"[Member Name Removed] We are Firehouse Moving & Delivery located in Terrell Texas. I do not have you in our records as a customer that we performed services for. We are often mistaken for other companies that have the Firehouse house name."
"Dear [Member Name Removed] We did do an onsite bid with you on 3/22/16, where we "estimated" your move to be 3 men and 1 and 1/4 truck at 8 hours plus a 1 hour trip fee for an "estimated" 9 hours. The job we did for you came in at 10.25 hours plus a 1 hour trip fee for a total of $1327.50. The bid we send out to our customers prior to a move, is an "estimated bid". Sometimes bid's come in slightly over or under. Customers do have the option to take out additional protection other than the .60 per pound that is automatic. Damages are rare but can occur. Thank you"
everything, mopped up the floors as they went, and kept me calm. Before the move, the owners came out and surveyed the house, garage, and yard before determining how many trucks and employees would be needed. They
gave me an estimate and the costs came in a little under the estimate. They stored our stuff for a week and then delivered it to out new house. Again, very professional, nice and stayed on task. After unpacking, only one item was chipped and that was due to my packing. Only suggestion I would make is for them to read the boxes better. If the arrows are pointing to the top, don't turn them upside down. I highly recommend this company.
Our home was over 5200 square feet and I was dreading the move to a smaller home. Firehouse Movers were helpful and courteous from the first inquiry. James came out to give us our estimate and it was acceptable, so we chose them. On moving day, the appointment was for 7 am and they were right on time.
I had done the packing myself, using their online guidelines, so when they got there the move was totally in their hands. These guys worked HARD in the August heat and were respectful on all counts. The furniture was heavy and the boxes were plentiful !!
99.9% of the boxes were delivered to the correct rooms because I had them all labeled. Big items (baby grand piano, pool table, five huge armoires) were massive undertakings and they handled them all with care.
These guys worked until almost dark to get everything done. I hope we never have to move again, but if we do I will definitely use Firehouse Movers !!
Our move required two trucks and six men, and it took a little over seven hours in 100 degree heat. Every one of the men hustled all day, they were cordial and pleasant the entire time, and they took great care in moving all our belongings.
I would highly recommend Firehouse Moving & Delivery and I would use them again.
Setup with Firehouse Moving & Delivery was simple. When I talked to the office I was given the date and time I wanted for the move and all pricing was clearly explained to me.
Firehouse Moving & Delivery was charged with distributing 36 major pieces of furniture, some of them large and multi-piece, from my parent?s estate. To do this they had to collect these items from two different locations in Greenville and transport, unload, and place them at four different locations, two in Greenville, one in Garland, and one in Murphy. I was very apprehensive because most of these are very valuable, irreplaceable antiques, some dating to the late colonial period. Based on other estimates we had received, we expected that the move would take the entire day.
The movers arrived, as scheduled, at 8:30 Saturday morning, made a quick review of the items to be moved, noted the destination of each, and then they got to work. They disassembled each item to the extent necessary, covered it in excellent padding, shrink-wrapped it, and then loaded and tied it down in proper order for efficient unloading at each destination point. In an amazingly short period of time we were headed out to deliver the furniture to its ultimate destinations.
Unloading the furniture went as fast and efficiently as the loading process. The movers carefully placed each item wherever directed, removed the packing materials, and took all associated packing debris away with them. Even the manager at the storage complex where some of the furniture was delivered was impressed with their industry and took note of Firehouse Moving & Delivery?s company name and phone number for future reference.
By 2:30 Saturday afternoon everything was completed. What we had expected to be a day-long effort was finished in time for us to go out for a late lunch.
The locations from which the furniture was removed and those to which it was delivered were left as neat as they were before the movers? arrival, everything was perfectly placed, and not one single item was even slightly damaged or dirtied. Throughout the entire move, the workers were polite and respectful (even while moving a large, very heavy 1920s-vintage barber chair from the second floor of one house to the second floor of its destination house).
Cost-wise, contracting with Firehouse Moving & Delivery was probably one of the smartest things I?ve ever done. I was a bit concerned about contracting a move at an hourly rate but the final price was less than 70 percent the price of our lowest fixed-price bid and less than half that of the highest. That, combined with the excellent work of the movers, gave us a result far better than our most optimistic hopes.
I truly cannot imagine how I could be happier with this moving experience. If I ever find it necessary to move again, they will be my first choice?.and in the meantime, I will share my experiences with anyone I know who is preparing for a move.
4-18 Comments: See above. My only negative comment would be the movers should perhaps wear booties, if possible. Red mud got tracked in on my new carpet.?
On Monday morning, the crew arrived very promptly and spent ten hours moving furniture and boxes out of our home. We were moving into an apartment temporarily, so the move also included a storage unit. The crew was always very professional and extremely careful with our furniture, using lots of pads and tape. They never slowed down, even after they were understandably tired.
When moving into the storage unit, they were extremely efficient with stacking and loading to maximize the space utilization. Another nice feature is that they offered to leave the pads taped to the nicer furniture as a rental since I am planning to use them again for our move into a new house (being built). The way this works is that they charged me for the pads but will reimburse me when I use them for my next move.
I definitely plan to use them in a few months when our new home is ready to move in. However, we will likely need to reserve a larger crew and maybe two trucks to make it go faster.
