Old ac system needed repairs. Decided to replace. This is second time for us in the house. Absolutely the best quality service ever had. Went above and beyond by repairing leaking duct work in attic. Also modified air intake to accommodate changes. Then came back and checked install and see how was operating..

my furnace is old & the guy was having trouble trying to figure out why the pilot light wouldn't stay lit, so he called another guy & they got it fixed. i appreciated how honest the guy was about not really knowing & was willing to call in someone with more knowledge rather than fixing things that didn't need to be. he was there for quite some time, but the price was reasonable.

Called @ 7:30. came almost immediately, (a big plus and are 1 block from our house) diagnosed outside Heat pump/unit as bad and gave estimate of replacement. ( tech's stmt was a direct replacement , so we assumed a Trane). I asked about any warranty to repair old since unit/house was only 8 years old. Tech said ran serial # and it was not registered or under warranty. So tech had to drive to Austin to p/u a unit Several hours later w traffic delay- unit that was finally being installed was the wrong one- not a H/P. I was looking at unit and it was an American Standard ( Trane alterative) and pointed out it was not a H/P. Tech then began search again and found one in Waco. He left, came back hollered at me in house when he was about done. I went out to ck out, only to see a different brand unit installed ( finishing ) and not what we thought were getting. I questioned tech. and he stated they could not get another American Stand. for several more days. I asked about Trane and he said they are not an 'authorized dealer" so would have to go to someone else to purchase. I asked how he first brought an American Stand. first and he stated its what was ordered but could not find another one. I was upset and reminded him that I asked initially if they do work on Trane's. It was after 5 and hubby pulled up and spoke to tech ( I had texted him) and he told us the unit installed was a very good brand and they never have any problems with, etc. He practically guaranteed it but stated this was his final day as he was changing jobs. He left and hubby and spoke and we were not happy because we thought we had been quoted for an exact replcmt not some generic brand. Next am I began calling to try and find another A/C comp. to ask about this brand and situation and found 2 others that said this was the cheapest brand available and did not recommend anything less that Trane or American Stan., then I found a Trane dealer. Spoke with them and they checked my serial # with Trane and according to them it was still under warranty and I would have only paid labor to replace the compressor. They said if I could get my old unit back from other comp. they could re-install, replace compressor and I would pay labor only. Otherwise take nothing less than an American Standard or Trane or problems would ensue and unit THand A installed was one of the worst brands available and it would have problems. When I tried to get my old unit back THand A they said it was gone already ( from 5pm to 9am next day!) Said a disposal comp. picks up fast. I then spoke with Manager @ Temple H and A regarding what I had been told by Trane dealer. He did not agree and I told him we feel duped asked that a Trane or American Stand. be installed at cost to compensate for situation that we feel they were not truthful with us. We came to an agreement ( although a little more money was required). I have used this company before and did not have a problem with service calls and seems professional.

Temple Air never contacted me, so I cannot comment on anything except their lack of responsiveness. I had initially targeted them, due to ratings on Angie's list, local recommendations and the type of equipment that they offered (American Standard). In Temple Air's defense, the local air conditioning industry did not distinguish themselves on this project; several viewed the project and promised bids, but did not follow-up with the bids as promised. I was finally able to secure three bids and my $20,000 system will be installed in early November. If Temple Air's lack of responsiveness was merely due to the fact that I made contact during their and quot;busy time of year, and quot; then I would have appreciated an E-mail or telephone response that they were not interested.
