FIRST CHURCH PRESCHOOL

They take great care of both my kids and seem to really care about them individually and want to teach them.  They have been great with individual concerns regarding toilet training, health concerns, behavior, and development.  The teachers are great with sending notes home in backpack mail if they had a particularly bad day or something concerning them and we receive newsletters to keep us in the loop as far as summer fun plans etc.  The price is not bad for everything you get there.  They really focus on learning with curriculum not just scribbling on paper.  They do more interesting crafts and the kids learn responsibility with weekly assigned jobs which my son loves.  He may be the line leader, prayer leader, door holder, or janitor etc.  The janitor helps the teacher survey the room for messes and they all clean up.  They have computer classes once a week which my son loves.  He comes home talking about the keyboard, mouse, websites etc.  They also do bible study classes and have an outdoor classroom where they can grow their own flowers etc.  We have to provide breakfast that they can eat there or they can eat before dropoff which was daunting to me at first but now I enjoy preparing their breakfasts.  I usually bring milk and fruit and granola bars or breakfast sausage and yogurt etc.  They provide a morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack.  We have been there a little over two months now and my main complaints are that I do not get to see the main teacher they spend their day with so I never really know how the day goes unless something big happened.  They get dropped off in their homerooms, spend the day with their main teacher in their classroom, and then are with someone else at pickup who doesn't have anything fun to share about the day, we usually just get the kids and go.  The older kids are in the movie room at the end of the day.  They also have a nice big gym they go to daily and two outdoor playgrounds.  The older kids go on fun summer day trips to the splash pads etc.  My 15month old's diaper changes, nap times, and foods are recorded in a binder but we do not get the papers daily and they do not say how much he ate just the food he was offered, which isn't concerning to me because I know he is an eater but I sometimes wish I knew more about his day other than if I ask I am told it was a good day and that he had fun.
