"I do apologize for any inconvenience. The stump grinder did break down. We had to order a new part, the new part was not correct. So it did take more time to get the stump grinder to get replaced. At the time our other stump grinder was out of town at another job. Due to stump the fence was broke, However we did fix the fence, We had to get materials to fix the fence. The fence was repaired. Again we do apologize for stump grinder breaking down on us. The part was sent to us wrong, and we had to wait until the back order part arrived before completing. Our goal is to make our customers happy with our service. However there are times when equipment breaks down. We did complete the entire job. We probably could not give you a direct answer on the stump grinding due to part issue. I am sorry the part took so long to come in. But we do want all of our customers happy. We do strive to do the best job possible for all of our customers."
Overall, it's difficult to accurately use the above rating system for the following reasons: Prices: Were they fair? The written quote seemed comparable to other businesses; The verbal quotes seemed fair BUT the final amounts were significantly more than quoted. I'm almost 80yrs old and don't feel like arguing with people. I do feel like I was taken advantage of. Quality: It's difficult to define the quality of the Live Oak Decline treatment since it will take several years to be able determine the result of such treatment. Responsiveness: The broken equipment delayed some of the work. I wasn't impressed at all with the way the tree delivery and planting went. Phone calls were answered or returned in a timely manner. Punctuality: Not an issue. Professionalism: He seems to know what he is talking about but he talks A LOT and he talks FAST. I really never knew what to expect because services, plans and prices changed frequently and without explanation. I do not consider that professional.
"My contract written and signed for $2500 for treatment and removal of liveoak trees. I was paid with a check by the customer for $2500 plus $79.85 for the fertilizer, we did a great job for the customer and even gave him a warranty on his tree. I told the customer about the fertilizer, he drove down to Harker Heights to get the fertilizer but could not find the business who sold it. As I was out on the job, checking the tanks, he told me he couldn't find the company, So I offered to go pick it up and spread for him. The extra charge was for pick up and delivery and spread the fertilizer. I can only buy the fertilizer by the pallet, The mark up was for delivery and spreading. We try to keep all our customers happy because they ususally call us back for more work. He was very satisfied when we left the job."
The climber was professional and knew what he was doing. One of the ground crew didn't make it to work until later in the AM. John, the owner, came out later in the day to check on the work in progress and to bring some organic feeds for the lawn/trees. He spent about an hour talking with us about our trees and things we needed to do or not do with them. I suppose the only downside was the lack of stump grinding. But that may be due to mixed / crossed messages. I'll update when they finish this last detail. But for that issue they would be a solid "A". The also cut two of the trees into fireplace length for us.
Final Entry:
Eventually had to hire another company to come out and perform stump removal.
The diagnosis of oak wilt disease was questionable at best. Specialist in oak wilt from Austin (they deal only with oak wilt) confirmed we do not have the disease on existing trees. Had we allowed All Around to treat the existing trees for oak wilt they would all be dying/dead by now.
They still did good work, for what they did, had they completed the job I might have slightly lower the rating. Failing to complete what was contracted for the best I can rate them is "D". Add the potentially fatal misdiagnoses of oak wilt and the score goes to "F". Sorry.
"We did pull your contract. I can show you exactly what we did on your job. We did not do any oak wilt treatment. Regarding the stump, this was a existing stump. You stated in our conversation You would call us when you had the funding available to remove this. You never called us back. Please check your records. You made this comment for a job that was done over a year ago. I have your contract and would be happy to go over the work we did do for you. We do strive to make all our customers happy."
