Horrible. Worst experience of my life. Ken is a very good salesman. Says just what you want to hear. My mother is disabled and this addition was so I could move in with her to care for her. We were lied to and scammed so much we could not believe anything he told us. He would not answer or return my phone calls. He said the carpet for the room was included. It was not. The last time I spoke with Ken, he was coming back in the next few days to have the carpet installed. I have never seen or heard from him again. I had to buy carpet myself.
He assured me the back porch would have deck screws in the floor boards. It has a few  but mostly nails that are now rusting. The front porch was missing many nails (he had not promised deck screws on this--I failed to ask). Some floor boards had only one nail in each end. The back porch roof is not closed in. We had agreed to leave it that way. But the roofing nails used were way too long and sick 3/4" out of the ceiling and now rusting.
I do feel the basic construction is sound, (slab, framework) at least I hope so. Although after the first rain I had to have someone come fix two leaks in the roof. Water was running down the wall in my new room. This person also told me that there were some nails laying on the roof that had just been roofed over. Also cracked and torn roofing material was used. I had to have these areas fixed.
The finish work is another story. Very bad. Drywalls were not properly taped and floated. You can see the seams in the sheetrock. Texture is in clumps. Storm door he installed wouldn't latch. I fixed that myself but still have to push down on door handle to lock it. Someone I had look at it showed me that there was only one screw in each bracket holding the door to the frame.
From beginning I told him I wanted a lever handle on my outside door. I never got that. The entire inside of the barn was to have insulation with pegboard on walls. There are four sheets of pegboard on the walls. The insulation used is foam board that is suppose to stick to the walls. It is not. I pointed this out to him but he didn't fix it.
A building project that started the end of July 2012 and was to be completed in two months lasted six months. I can't begin to tell you the mental anxiety this experience has caused my mother and me.
He always required the money in advance. No, I didn't like this and it should have been my first clue to turn and run as fast as I could. But I had given him a deposit to begin work and from then on I was just trying to protect my investment. By the time I was in over my head, it was too late.
This is some but not nearly all the problems we had.

The cabin project went horribly wrong. In our naivete, we paid him up front in two separate payments. This was a bad mistake on our part. Mr Foster kept coming up with excuses about the high cost of materials and having to pay his subcontractors. The project was delayed for almost 3 weeks, while he was recovering from the "the flu". Would not give us a firm date as to when he would come back and complete the paint project. After finally completing the french drain, the water line broke flooding the whole side of the house. He claimed it was not his fault and wanted $350 extra to dig up the drain and repair the line. The water line was fine, until he trenched the area and laid pounds of river rock over the line without reinforcing it. My wife and I decided to hire a plumber to repair the line break and just have Mr Foster complete the rest of the painting project and then send him on his way. When we tried to contact him again, Mr Foster refused to return phone calls and emails. He dropped the cabin key in the mailbox and simply "walked away" with us being $5000 in the hole. He has already pocketed the whole $10 thousand dollars, so thus there was no incentive for him to complete the project. We made some mistakes in dealing with Mr Foster and learned a valuable (if not expensive) lesson. What really troubles us is that we recommended this man to another friend who was having foundation problems. That project has also been a dismal failure and she is currently seeking legal recourse. We now regret giving Mr Foster an initial glowing recommendation on Angie's List and hope others were not duped into contracting for his services.

We have been putting off this renovation because of the cost and general disruption. The bathroom is on the 2nd floor of an older house. After seeing telltale evidence of water damage from the bathroom , it was time to act. We received several estimates which ranged from 8-12 thousand dollars. We had used Ken's services previously to renovate a garage game room several years ago. At that time, he did an excellent job. So we called Ken to give us an estimate. Ken spent a good amount of time giving us pointers and suggestions on how to save money on this project. His estimate was very fair, so we decided to use him. Ken was very punctual. He arrived on our doorstep at 8am sharp every morning. Even worked on a couple of Saturdays in order to stay on his promised completion schedule.Ken never left us in the dark as he kept us informed on the progress every step of the way. My concern with this older bathroom was the possibility of finding mold behind the walls. I didn't want disturbed mold floating all over the house. Ken made sure to totally encase the bathroom with plastic sheeting and zippered entryways. It reminded me of entering a "semiconductor clean room". He was extremely detail-oriented and didn't cut corners. As with any older home, surprises spring up. He was able to deal with those occurrences without any appreciable delay. We contracted separately with Lowes to attach the the glass shower doors. When the contracted installers came in, they balked and gave numerous excuses on why they could not attach the particular doors we bought to the shower enclosure. They suggested that we buy a more expensive ($900) set of glass doors. Since I was at work, my wife had to run the show. My wife was not happy with the Lowes installers and personally called Ken (this was on a Saturday) about what he would suggest. Now Ken could have simply offered some suggestions over the phone, but he didnt. He drove from his house (20 miles away) and personally confronted the installers on their unwillingness to attach doors. We decided, at that point, to send the installers back and contracted separately for Ken to install doors.( which we should have done in the first place). Ken came back on Monday morning and installed the doors perfectly. Ken takes his work very seriously. He commented to me that every project he completes is a reflection on him. We have absolutely no doubts about highly recommending Ken and his company , Construction By Foster, to anyone needing quality remodeling/renovation at a fair price.
