"I have had an EXCELLENT experience with Vern. He is very versatile in his knowledge in handyman work. I first met him almost 3 years ago when I needed my TV mounted in my apartment. Since then I bought a house and he has been able to fix my running toilet, fix my sprinkler heads, install an electric outlet for me in my bathroom. I am so thankful he can help with so much! He has AMAZING customer service and is always so friendly, very prompt and always comes with extra supplies! "I called Austin after he completed the job. I started the call saying I’m not asking for money back but if it were me I would want to know. There are multiple places with screws sticking out. Pictures are below. He asked what job this was and I explained. It started well saying this isn’t how we do business. After he saw the pictures he stated it wasn’t his fault. The painters made it difficult. I stated I didn’t care if anything was missing but it was the safety of my child and others that would play. He stated his job is to move and reassemble. His job is not to make sure it is safe. I said I assumed they would have it ready for kid play but again, he stated not his job and the screw sticking out wasn’t his guys bc it had paint on top of the screw. Again, he is missing the point. I will end up fixing all this but not the expectation which was my point. He stated “if you don’t want anything wrong with it maybe you should just buy a new one.” No accountability and was pretty rude on the phone. To his credit he stated he would come fix it but at this point, I don’t really want to deal with him. He stated this about 75% of the way through the conversation. He also stated, I see why you called, you just want to complain. The beginning of the phone call was saying I was disappointed in the work. If I or my group did a poor job, I would WANT to know. In the end, he wanted to push off on the painters and me. He stated he went above and beyond bc the playground is on a slight slope. See picture. Maybe that’s true but doesn’t really seem like it. A fairly simple job imo. I would be hesitant to use them AND DEFINITELY do a walk through to make sure there are no sharp objects. Half of this review is how he handled the entire situation."
