I used another VCA vet at the time. My dog had problem peeing and was in visible pain. I was recommended to contact this location because it was after hours. I contacted a vet tech working the night shift and he got a vet dr to come out there, dr Lott. She was very understanding and did an intial exam and then recommended what she thought was necessary to be able to treat her. She took x-rays and some other tests. Based on the information she saw that my dog had quite a few kidney stones and gave me options to either have her stay overnight or take her home which I ended up doing and also got pain medicine and other medicine for my dog.
I went to my regular vet dr but I wasn't comfortable with the timeline and response so I went back to the Sunnyvale location the next day. Dr Lott performed the surgery to remove the kidney stones but unfortunately one stone was discovered to be stuck in the urethra of my dog. My dog had to stay a few days and she gave me some options but the best option of taking my dog to a special animal hospital was not financially feasible. Dr Lott contacted other specialists in the area and was very proactive and came up with some ideas on how to pass the stone. She was able to get a catether passed through but wasn't able to knock the stuck kidney stone at first. She performed another attempt a few days later but was still not able to. As a last resort she recieved help from a surgeon that had faced a similar issue in the past and was finally able to knock the stuck kidney stone out.
My dog made a full recovery. This was a complicated case and they gave me estimates beforehand and I thought I was going to have to put my dog down but because of the diligence of the vet doctor not wanting to give up, she was able to miraculously fix my dog's conditions. They also gave me a generous price break due to the large cost and the special case. Since this happened I have switched vets and only go to this location.
I was given updates continously and how my dog was doing and after every surgery and I was always given all the feasible options and at no point was I ever pressured to go through with any of the suggested treatments.

We can't say enough good things about VCA Loop 12 Animal Hospital. This clinic has treated all our pets for at least 15 years, and has helped us through the grief and loss of two pets, a cocker spaniel and an Angora cat, who had to be euthanized because of serious illness. In one case the office manager even sent us a sympathy card for our dog's death. The staff is always friendly and very professional, and very understanding of how traumatic visits to the clinic are for most animals. Our current pet, a Border Collie, is hyperactive and tends to snap, so the vet assistants are always ready with a muzzle so that she doesn't hurt them or herself during exams. They're also good at using the finest hypodermic needles possible to reduce the pain of vaccinations, and they're extremely good about sending vaccination reminders. They'll even trim our dog's nails for us during wellness exams, because that's super-hard for us with her personality. The clinic is also very understanding about the high cost of pet care, and will give us estimates and recommendations for care to stay within our budget. We have every confidence in the care our pets get from VCA Loop 12 Animal Hospital and recommend them to anyone in the Pleasant Grove/Buckner-I30 neighborhood.

They were very kind when we had to put our weimer down. I would recommend them in a heartbeat. They get to know both you and your pets and will call them by name. They are also very welcoming to new clients. THe office also always clean.

THE SERVICE WAS GOOD. THE STAFF IS CARING AND PATIENT WITH YOUR PETS. THEY WERE ABLE TO BATHE MY CAT WITHOUT DRUGGING HER. THAT IS GREAT. I AM UNABLE TO GIVE HER A BATH MYSELF.

VERY PROFESSIONAL. A LITTLE EXPENSIVE, BUT WORTH IT ALL FOR AN IMPORTANT MEMBER OF OUR FAMILY.
