It took about a 12 days to complete. All of the deck was removed and new concrete poured. I had the concrete stamped with a flagstone pattern and stained. The waterfall is beautiful. The plaster was sprayed and the pool was filled. Even with the problems, I Iove the new look (as the old one was horrible!).
The first hairline crack in the concrete appeared in June. The job was completed in March. The expansion joints they placed in the concrete were not laid straight. The original plan was to insert a single drain in the deck to move water away from the house; instead, I have 1/2" drain channel along the foundation and across the concrete deck to the drain pipe. The concrete is a rusty brown and the drain channels are beige. In the plaster it looks like water was left leaking from the return jets and it created a line from all the jets to the bottom of the pool. The pump to the rock waterfall was placed on the ground (no pad), and the electrical box they replaced after putting in the line for the pump, was old and the cover was unsightly. There is too much juice running all of this equipment as they just tied into the existing electric, so now, when I turned on the waterfall, I can't run the pump and the Polaris without throwing a breaker. The crew also used my personal hose and fireman's garden nozzle which I had to replace.
A year later, I continue to find cracks in the concrete. When I contacted Mario about the first crack in June, he came to look at the first one, but never got back with me about how it would be fixed. I think it may only be the top layer of concrete that was stained that is cracking. I was out of town for the bulk of the work. Had I been on site everyday to monitor the progress, I could have monitored the job and asked questions when I thought something wasn't going as it should.
If I knew about them earlier, I would have had them install my pool!
