MCDOUGAL SEWING CENTER

Dropped it off 3/11, and was told it would take 5 weeks to repair. Called them 6 weeks later to find out nothing had been done. They said they were waiting to hear from Brother Corp regarding the warranty and would call me once things were cleared. Almost a month afterwards, I still never heard a word from them. Called and got the same excuse, and we're told Brother is just bad about responding. So we called Brother ourselves and got immediate help. Brother called McDougal for us to tell them to do the work. The person at McDougal never called to inform me of the status of my machine, even after telling me several times that they would. Very bad service.

McDougal Sewing Center has a rental space inside JoAnn Fabrics store. It was difficult to locate until I called by phone to find out where is the location. I have a Singer Featherweight that is 35 years old. They reconditioned the machine (altho did not replace the belt) and returned it to me within 3 weeks for $100. Their standard repair fee is the $100, and service wait time is advised as one month because they send the machines to another repair location. The McDougal rep was helpful and pleasant, and she phoned me when the machine was ready onsite at JoAnn's store.

They had quite a backlog of repair work, so my machine was in the shop about 3 weeks. However, when they got to it and called me with the estimate, it was ready to pick up within 2 days. The repair was very good. They are located inside the Jo-Ann Fabric store in Sugar Land, which was convenient. I was happy to find a shop with parts to repair my old machine.

After winding the bobbin the machine would not sew. I read refiews and decided to use Mcdougle Sewing Center. I was unable to find the store in Sugar Land, no mention was made that it was in Joann's Craft Center in First Colony, so I drove to the Katy location. The directions were unclear and it took a phone call to find it. They were very professional and understood the problem and quoted me a price to fix the sewing machine and also service it. It was ready when promised and they delivered it to the Sugar Land location. The store in Katy was well stocked with accessories and software. I want to go back when I have more time.

These are extremely helpful and friendly people. They are the only company I plan on using from now on.
