"Unfortunately, that area of the roof was a bad installation by the original builder. In March of 2017, a temporary repair of a leak caused by nails backing out of the decking was performed. A one year workmanship warranty was provided. Presently, it is not in warranty. Evidentially, more of the original builder installation problems have shown up after the near-tornado winds from the other night and an assumption has been made that a crystal ball should have been used to predict which parts of this roof would come unfastened as time goes on. I highly doubt our repairs have failed and suspect the additional dis-repair is in an adjacent area. Likely, the only way he is ever going to get satisfaction is by doing a reroof. I certainly sympathize with the predicament, but this problem is definitely not unique in that area of Missouri City. Many of the homes are poorly constructed. Unfortunately, badly constructed homes that are nudged along using temporary repairs tend to continue needing new Band-Aids.."
Two roofers worked for two and half days to replace the roof on our house. They were very experienced and their workmanship was excellent. They did not use nail guns but instead hand nailed all the shingles which is slower but creates a better roof. The positioning of the nails cannot be controlled as well if a nail gun is used. Instead of putting a dumpster on our driveway, they hand a truck with a trailer to collect the old roofing material. They cleaned up extremely well to complete a great job.
The salesman was also very knowledgeable and matter of fact. He was a little bit hard to reach on his cell phone during the day but he did return all my phone calls. He completed and submitted the required approval paperwork to the First Colony Homeowners Association so that process went smoothly and very quickly (a few days).
