 + -1 moreI have really enjoyed Life Time so far. They have plenty of equipment, so I don't find myself waiting like I have at other gyms. Their persoanl trainers seem knowledgable, but a little pushy, as they work on commission. Also, Life Time really does a much better job than most when it comes to facility cleanliness. While they are more expensive than many fitness centers, the old adage is true...you get what you pay for! I'll keep paying, as I prefer that to lowering my standards by going to a sub-par gym.
Description of Work: I have been a member at Life Time Fitness for almost a year. I joined to help me get back in shape at a location close to home.

 + -1 moreI like the positive environment they create. They are very convenient. They have spa and salon inside the gym. I do not have to leave the gym to get something to eat. They have a healthy cafand eacute; inside the gym.

Description of Work: I joined Life Time fitness in the summer of 2011. They do seem to have wide availability of cardio machines. I wish they had more yoga and water fitness classes, however. There is a wonderful restorative yoga teacher, but her classes are so popular that there's barely room to move by the time everyone comes into the small classroom. Sometimes private pilates lessons are held while yoga is being taught and that's pretty distracting. I was told I'd be given credits to use toward anything I wanted when I joined, but I didn't realize that they automatically assigned those credits to my 'free' training session. I asked to have them reassigned so I could take swimming lessons but they never did it. At my 'free' training session, the trainer was constantly recommending vitamins and supplements that they sold in their shop. This sort of thing happened often during my interactions with the staff; I felt like everything was to try to make a sale. They could use more toilets in the women's dressing rooms as well as a few private changing stalls for more modest women. The sales rep I had was very chauvinistic; he asked if my husband knew I was joining a gym and if he was ok with it; he said one of the massage therapists was very strong 'for a woman.' I joined because it's the closest gym to my house.
