So originally, I called Joseph to give me a quote on new countertops. But, as we talked, I asked Joseph if he could do more; like paint cabinets. Well, that was the start. Joseph basically re-did our Kitchen and, best of all, he was a "solution finder." So, he proposed a vent hood over the island stove and, he figured out how to vent it through the garage. And people LOVE the kitchen. Guests rave about it. So, we hired JJ Designs for MORE. They remodeled our bathroom, including a full paint job, replacement of plumbing, custom shower, custom cabinets, new vents. New floors - and it's amazing. My wife and I love it. We ALSO had Joseph replace our floors in 3 downstairs rooms. Oh and they replaced our carpeted stairs and wooden spindles with wood and metal. All I can say is that we are so glad we found Joseph. He and his teams not only do great work; but Joseph is very fair in his pricing and does not "surprise" - although I did ask him to do more because of all the great work they were doing. And I have no doubt we will ask him to do more.

We decided to use this contractor because he had installed a similar outdoor patio ceiling in another unit in our building.
Because an example already existed there wasn't much need to communicate our specs for the project so that part of the project went fine.   Installation which was done in 2013 appeared to go well.   I think it may have taken a day or two longer than originally proposed (what construction project doesn't?).    The installation appeared fine aesthetically.
The following season (one year later) there was considerable warping between the boards which were installed in a tongue and groove fashion (similar to hardwood flooring).   There was so much warping that in many areas the boards created an inverted "V" shape which looked awful. 
We brought this to the attention of Joseph (the Owner) in 2014 and he said it's normal and that the warping might vary a bit with the humidity.   We agreed to keep an eye on it but brought it to his attention again later in the season.   Mind you the other unit which was installed several years before ours does not have these problems.
This year, 2015, (now two years post installation) pieces of the ceiling (boards) have fallen off and the ceiling is actually pulling away from the mounting along the sides.   It looks really bad -- as if it were 20 years old.... We contacted him three times by text over several weeks and he finally got back to us and agreed to come take a look.   His website claims he is very responsive...  This has not been our experience with this project.
He said he's not sure why there are leaks between the seams and he said he'd repair the warping boards for another $500!  We paid $8,000 for this project.   Obviously this man does not stand by his work!

Kitchen was reduced to studs and then Joseph and team did their magic.  Joseph's design ideas gave me a kitchen that had no workable counter tops to a kitchen with a u shape which tripled the counter space.  Didn't think it was possible, but he made it happen.    I love it and will post pics, just waiting to get my window treatments... 

The work they did was first class; finished on time and on budget. I consider the company a valuable resource for both property maintenance. and home improvement. They are also very good consulting on interior design.

They did a great job overall, and completed the work more quickly than I expected.  They mostly showed up on time; if they were going to be 30 minutes late due to traffic, they called to let us know.  They were careful about moving furniture out of the way, covering things up to protect from the dust, and cleaning when they were finished.  They did a good job with the wall extensions and painting; you'd never know the walls didn't originally run floor-to-ceiling.
I would definitely hire them again.
