Antonio Mason

Antonio Mason had been referred to us by Terri Mitchell at Picture Perfect Settings (Sugar Land, TX). She gave him rave reviews and said he could be trusted with a key to our house and she had not heard of any issues with him. We checked 8 current reviews and they all said he did a good job but sometimes mis-estimated amount of paint needed and had to come back and adjsut the price). We thought we had safe guarded ouselves and agreed on a set price with 3 payments, 1 up-front, 1 half-way and the last one when completed. He had asked for 3 weeks so he could do the job himself without a crew (to save more money for himself) and we agrred to that even though it was a huge inconvenience. The first week went well without any issues other than that the fact that the floor was covered in paint drips and the carpets had small paint stains. The problems started on the 2. week. We had talked over the weekend on what rooms we needed to get ready for the following week. That Monday he did not show up and neglected to call us to let us know. When we called him that evening to find out what was going on his reason was that he had an eye appointment that he had scheduled a while back and could not cancel and he forgot to tell us. No apologies and did not offer to make up for the lost time. We decided to take a chance and stay with the contractor and he continued to paint as scheduled. That sunday he showed up at our house and said he could not complete the work because he had a family emergency but had sworn to secrecy and could not tell us why he walked off the job. He still owed us money from the 2. payment that we gave him that we never got back. Stay away from this contractor, he is a smooth talker but not trustworthy.
