Southwest Muffler & Brake

Been here three times, about to go a fourth. I was a mechanic years ago for a short time. I own 12 cars and usually work on them myself. I don't need someone like Tony very often. If I was a mechanic, I'd aspire to be one like Tony. If you're a micro-managing control freak, you won't mesh well with him - that's what he is. That he messes with my little projects at all, and still charges me a fair price says a lot. The parking lot of cars - real cars, coming and going - says it all.

Place was busy - dropped off at 10:30 AM picked up at 3 PM.  Saved about $600 vs. the dealer.  Very pleased.

Reasonable prices, and very honest people.  I took my car to this mechanic for ~9 years, until I moved out of the Dallas area.  Tony was very responsive and honest with repairs that were not needed.

My truck exhaust had been converted from single to dual exhaust with a Flowmaster muffler.  Southwest replaced the dual exhaust system for a fair price, installed a new Magnaflow, and the workmanship was excellent.  The Southwest installation, including how the exhausts supports were installed was much better than the original conversion and the truck sounds better than ever.

Tony Rodriguez the manager, diagnosed both problems and proceeded to remove the section of muffler pipe that was defective , custom made a new section of pipe and welded it in place.  One of the other mechanics adjusted the tension in my parking brake cable.
Both items were repaired and adjusted very promptly and at a very reasonable cost.  
I was treated with courtesy and respect and the repairs were properly done at a reasonable cost.  They are a locally owned business and obviously care  very much about their customers.
I will definitely use them again in the future.

Southwest replaced only a section of exhaust pipe that had developed a hole in it.  They could have replaced the muffler and claimed it had a hole, I would have been none the wiser.  I appreciated their honesty.
The shop is not clean, and the waiting area is small and not clean.  It is a muffler shop, but it could be cleaner.  But they fixed the exhaust leak in less than an hour, and were honest, so the housekeeping issue is minor.

There was an exhaust leak in my car and I did not know where it was coming from. I left my car with them and I left. They called me on my cellphone and said that it is just a pipe between the muffler and the resonator and it would be $49 to fix and I said them to fix it and do the inspection. They finished the job within an hour or so and it went smoothly and was inexpensive. They could have told me the muffler was bad or something like that, but they didn’t. They were honest with me. I would use their service in the future too.

I'VE BEEN TO A LOT OF AUTO REPAIR SHOPS IN SUGAR LAND AND STAFFORD, BUT THESE GUYS ARE EXCELLENT! THEY SPECIALIZE IN BRAKES, BUT ALSO OFFER OTHER REPAIR SERVICES. THEY ARE VERY PRICE COMPETITIVE. I SHOPPED AROUND BEFORE USING THEM AND THEY WERE SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER THAN EVERYONE ELSE. I WAS SO IMPRESSED, I PLAN TO HAVE AN ADDITIONAL $500 OF WORK DONE BY THEM SOON. ASK FOR ''GOOSE,'' THE OWNER.
