ALAMO STONE

A very simple order turned into a calamity of errors.  I had a quote from 3-23-13, where the wife and I showed up on site and chose the color.  On 10-25-13, I called to place the order, already knowing the color.  I am also a DirectBuy member, so the price was already established.  All we had to do was determine quantity and delivery.
    Because their salespeople get paid by commission, I was redirected to the person that was originally at the counter 7 months ago.  It took about 7 phone calls on Friday because 1) the salesperson did not seem to realize all of the facts they needed and 2) was working from home and did not take notes, so when they got to the office, they had to ask all of the same questions again.  We left the conversation on Friday with me providing a credit card and, in return, the expectation was for Alamo to provide the Monday delivery time so I can be at the house and email me a copy of the invoice.
    By Monday afternoon, I neither had a delivery time or the emailed invoice.  When I called at noon, no one answered the phone.  When I called back at 2 pm, I found out the salesperson doesn't work on Monday and Friday.  Then I was told the delivery driver was waiting at the entrance gates and he could not get in because he did not have the gate code.  When speaking to him on the phone, the 6 tons of flagstone were to be dropped on the 'far right (garage) bay'.  When I arrived home 3 hours later, 'far right bay' turned into 'far right of center bay'.  Now, I cannot get my car in the driveway until I clear 6 tons of stone.  Trivial things are usually not trivial.
    Lastly, the delivery truck driver left a mess, not only in my driveway but on the street.  This was not a construction site, but a finished development.

AS ALWAYS, AFTER SEARCHING THE MANY VARIETIES OF STONE/ROCK, I FOUND EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR AND AT A CLEARANCE PRICE. I TURNED DOWN HELP CHOOSING AND LOADING THE ROCKS. THE SALES STAFF IS ALWAYS FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL.
