All went well.  We appreciated his work and will call again when we need similar services. (I did ask him about the "F" rating from another reviewer; Dave explained the situation to our satisfaction.)
My daughter has also hired Dave to make extensive repairs on her home in Colleyville.  She has used him on several occasions over the past six or seven years.  She is also a satisfied customer (but not a member of Angies' List).

On 2 windows, he never sealed them up, no trim, nothing.  On one I could expect not to have trimmed it out, as there was a door there, and more wall work needs to be done first.  It could have been at least caulked and sealed.  But the other window, it was a replacement, and the take out  window was trimmed.  Trim was available to re-install.  I paid for a new entry door to be installed, with a storm door.  The entry door is in, but it binds and doesn't open or shut easy.  The storm door sits here, not installed.  I paid for tongue and groove pine paneling to be installed in many areas of my home.  In general it is ok, but we were using the tongue and groove boards for trim around doors and windows, and other places.  This concept was started on the rent house.  On the rent house, he trimmed off the tongue and groove, giving nice edges, which is what I expected him to do here.  No, he just slapped it up with the tongue & groove showing.  it looks like crap!  Some of the mitres and other joints don't fit well.  Where the pine comes up against some stone work in the house, there is no trim installed at all.  I could go on and on.  I have photographs to back up my claims, and of course a copy of the bid list with the amounts of money paid.  Clearly showing that all the work was not completed.  If Dave would have spent time on my job alone, he would have been done weeks ago.  That was not the case.  I never got more than 3 days work out of a week.  Some weeks he would never show up.  Other times he would say he would be here, but then text me the morning he was supposed to be here, and tell me he had another more "pressing" job he needed to deal with.  I called him on getting to backed up quite some time ago, and he downplayed it, like it wasn't going to happen very often.  Now, get this.  I needed to do something done with the front of my house to spruce it up.  there is an addition going on the front later on this year.  He suggested I use vinyl, as it was "cheap".  He came out on Monday July 22nd to bid a vinyl job.  Once I got the price, it was much higher than I thought it was going to be, so I turned his bid down.  I mentioned we would have to go another route, like maybe use Smart Panel.  Reason being, I would have to tear down the vinyl to install my new addition, thus more labor, thus money down the drain.  If I use Smart Panel, I can leave it up, and build from it.  They were scheduled to come out on Wed. July 24th, and then again on Friday July 26th.  Wed morning he texted me that he was too busy to complete my job.  And had the AUDACITY to mention I could just keep any money OWED.  He has been overpaid, since so few of the jobs are complete.  If he were to complete everything, I would owe him $225.00.  For me to get another person in here to complete the work he contracted to do, it is going to cost me over $1000.00 at least.  When made aware that he didn't get enough done, and some of the things he did do needs attention, he said he would take care of it.  When?  He already said he was too busy to complete my job.  I have copies of his texts too.  What drove me nuts about them, is they didn't spend enough time here to just get my job done, when I thought that is what he was going to do.  Another thing, he would start project after project, and not complete them.  I have had a light switch he tore apart in my bathroom left open now for weeks.  He told me he would sort it out, but he never did.   I am VERY disappointed, and feel like I have been taken advantage of.  I am on disability, and I hired them to do this work because I can't do it myself.  To leave me with this job not completed, is totally unconscionable.  What I don't get, why, if he is SO busy, did he come and bid a vinyl siding job on Monday. then Wed tell me they are too busy to complete what they started?  I don't have the answer.  I do have a few guesses.  One is my job ended up being a "nuisance"  job for him, and he can make more money elsewhere.  What about taking care of customers you already bid and started work for?
Response from DP Myers
"His request for me to come back out and do more work would just lead to problems. If I am so bad at my work, why would he want me to come back? He owes me money and I gladly give it up not to have to go back. I had to work around areas covered with stuff and his smoking all the time was unbearable. Mr. (Member Name Removed) failed to mention that the work performed was completed per him making us his mind on what he wanted done. Things would start and then he wanted something different. I did the work at face value. I didn’t know he wanted me to use old left over lumber laying in his yard. He wanted me there all the time. I do have many return customers and have never had a bad rating from any of them. As for being paid for uncompleted work, Mr. (Member Name Removed) also failed to bring up all the extras he had me do which I never got paid for, like Pine installation on one kitchen wall, and other electrical issues. Reframing the kitchen pantry so his old used doors would work. I see he used the (I’m a handicap person). He does use a cane and is on many pain pills which I believe aids in his decision making. As for the vinyl siding we were discussing, he has R. Panel siding and putting up vinyl means a lot of trim (?) out. When I gave him the price, he said he could get the vinyl cheaper at Lowe’s. He forgets there is a labor charge to install it. I could go on and on, but the fact is he wants someone there all the time even if he doesn’t know what he wants done. Trim (?) out on the projects consisted again of using bits and pieces of left over junk that I had to make work. When I got paid the last time his words were, “ I know I owe you more than the bid called for, so I will take care of that later. Here is all I have now,” which was approximately $300.00 less than owed to that point. I think he is acting like a child when his friend doesn’t want to play. I offered to come out and finish what he thought I owed him on the following Saturday and his response was (get your ass out here now!!). He is the only customer I have ever had a problem with. What does that tell you? Thanks."

I called Dave per the recommendation of a Realtor friend to fix a couple of "plumbing-lite" issues. I scheduled him a week out and was a little worried when I didn't get a confirmation so left a voice message the day before. He showed up as scheduled, fixed both the kitchen and the bathroom faucets in less than an hour AND took some time to check an alleged gas leak another company was trying to get me to fix on our heating unit. I didn't compare his price to anyone else's but because we were considering replacing the kitchen faucet prior to this and that would have cost at least $100, I feel like we did pretty well price-wise. Both faucets continue to work well now.
