The initial quote was for 3 outdoor security cameras, installation, wiring, port switch, set up and port forwarding. On the planned installation day, the agreed upon arrival time for the technician (confirmed in advance) was at 9am. He finally showed up around 1pm. The technician did a good job with the installation but didn't finish until after 7pm. We had been lead to believe that the installation would include a turn key system including configuration of our computer to ingest and display the 3 camera's images. The technician did not know how to do the configuration but wanted me to start remotely installing their software at 7:30pm which I refused due to the hour and the fact this was not the agreement. Several days later I was put into contact with a remote technician who was very competent and one of the only company employees that was very helpful. The remote support consisted of hours of my time configuring my laptop to accept the cameras with help from their technician. He was able to take over my computer and do some of the configuration remotely. Then after my system did an auto update to Internet Explorer 10, bringing up the cameras caused my computer to freeze up. However on a new computer with IE 10 the cameras do work if you use compatibility mode. After nearly 6 weeks of working with him, as well as one camera replacement due to broken IR imaging, the system finally works. But doing such a configuration remotely is not very efficient and certainly not for someone who does not understand a little about PC software configurations. The cameras used are Agasio 612 POE cameras. We were charged $300 for each camera (not including installation, that was a separate charge). These cameras as available on the Agasio web site for $139.99, on sale for $99.99. In hindsight it was our fault for not asking for camera details in the quote. When presented with this information and our displeasure at the apparent price discrepancy, the salesman wrote an email telling us they thought the price was fair because they had to make a profit and pay for overhead. We assumed the profit was in the installation charges which were an additional $700. He also wrote that the price included remote user support, which was never mentioned in the quote. (Side Note: Agasio also provides remote user support for their cameras). We paid for half of the total cost prior to the installation. Two days after the camera installation, before the computer display of the images was ever configured and weeks before all 3 cameras were found to function properly, our credit card was charged the other half of the payment amount without even letting us know they were charging the second payment. We found out from our credit card statement. The payment also included some minor hardware that was quoted but not needed and never supplied. Two months after the initial installation we are still trying to get that credited.
Description of Work: Installed 3 outdoor security cameras and assisted with the configuration to display and record the images.
