The Company sent the Plumber a day earlier than the scheduled day, but returned
the next day to complete the work, without charging us for the second day.
As was true in May 2014, from my initial phone call requesting service to thanking Nick for his work, every step was professionally handled.
The work was to fix non-critical problems...so when the scheduler apologized that they were unusually busy and booked until the following Monday that was not a problem. I was given several 4 hour windows to choose from, with the promise of a phone call on the appointment day when they were on the way (15-30 minutes out). All of that went very smoothly and exactly as promised.
Our home is 1988 built but new to us in 2014. The water main shut-off valve looks very corroded, and was difficult to close when we did the washer hook-up, so we were ready to replace that valve BEFORE it failed to avoid any future bad surprises. Nick tackled that first-asked if it was still able to completely shut-off water, then showed me how to check this-(shut valve/opened kitchen faucet to check for flow, then checked at the meter out by the street). When he confirmed that the valve was still functioning to completely shut off the water supply, he recommended NOT doing a replacement. He explained that it was a $350 job, requiring them to cut into the wall of the utility room to put in a box around a new valve, that the true cost would be higher, as they did not do the cosmetic (wall board, etc.) repair. He also suggested we cycle ALL water service valves (close and open) in the house every 6 months to ensure they don't freeze in place. (Great suggestion no one had shared with me before.)
The two outside hose bibs were original to the house and leaky-Nick inspected and quoted the cost to repair each of them, then did the replacement work very quickly.
Finally, we have a high arc faucet in our kitchen that has been a bit wobbly/loose and, because of the deep farmhouse sink arrangement, getting to the fitting is difficult. Nick had a tool that made it easier (though not easy) and made it nice and stable, GAVE me the tool and all at not charge.
Needless to say, I will make Woodlands Plumbing my first call for any/all future plumbing work.
Called them on Saturday about 3 PM and they were at the house within an hour. They completed the work within an hour and a half, including running to the shop for the big drain machine. They charge normal rates on Saturday before 5 PM so it was very reasonable. I would highly recommend them. Had them repair a faucet for a broken plastic pipe in the wall another time and the work was fast, good and reasonable.
