RUTLAND TRANSMISSION SVC

I blew my transmission up back in November of 2019. I called John at rutland to do a rebuild job. A month after they picked it up it was still not finished. I was told it would only take two weeks. Then they destroyed my transmission and messed up the transfer case which ultimately had to be rebuilt as well. After all of the problems that they had they put a used transmission in my truck and told me it was a new one paid for by them because they destroyed my original transmission to the point of no return. The clutch has not been right since i got the truck back. yesterday me and my father started to put a new clutch in it and found out they put a junkyard transmission in it. Most of the seals are leaking and they put the clutch together wrong. I called them to see what they wanted to do about it and their response was the 3 year unlimited mileage warranty is only valid in Texas. John knows i am a traveling welder from Florida and falied to mention this. Needless to say i am a very unsatisfied customer and will never send anyone there. And i am considering taking legal action as well as contacting the better business bureau.

Warranty not worth the paper it's printed on. Spent $2k on a complete transmission rebuild. Installed in the car and would never shift correctly. Was told multiple times to wait until bringing the car in as they were too busy -- was put on the back burner for several months. Called multiple times. After a while, they recognized my number and stopped answering. I called from another number and they immediately answered. When I finally did get in, they kept my car for over a month and did nothing except rig the transmission linkage to try and mask the actual problem. Car sat so long the battery was dead and cob webs were under the car. They also drilled a hole in my throttle bracket to hook a spring since they couldn't get it working correctly -- after I told them not to modify anything. Total hacks. The transmission will now have to come out (again) and be rebuilt for real (already leaking from the pump). This is very disappointing after spending $2k for basically nothing. I'm in serious doubt it was ever completely rebuilt in the first place. Was told at the time I picked up the car that I could leave it and they'd 'try' to fix it. This after calling multiple times and being told it was fixed. Transmission shifts exactly the same as when I brought it in. Throttle rod was rigged so they could wiggle out of actually fixing what was wrong -- and having to go through the trans again. Stay far away from these clowns. All the 5 star ratings for this place are FAKE! BEWARE!

They were very professional yet personable. They offer a good warrantee. We highly recommend them.

I wouldn't take my cars anywhere else for transmission work. These guys put a new transmission in my wife's '93 Sonata in 2001, and have been an excellent source of transmission advice. I wouldn't buy another used car without having these guys check out the car!
