Several neighbors have used and recommended RCI Roofing. I called them to give me a bid, on several holes on our roof, three lead vent covers, that the squirrels had eaten, and to remove two satellite dishes. They made an appointment and came by a few days later, to gave me an estimate. Albert did a very detailed examination of our roof. He identified only one lead vent needed to be replaced and the two others could be repaired . He also suggested covering the vents with mesh, to keep the squirrels away. He gave us a recommendation on removing the two satellite dishes and repairing the surrounding roof. He also identified we only had one hole in our roof. A few days later his workmen arrived and did the repairs. They were very professional and knowledgeable. They completely cleaned up all the debris, when they were done. They also reviewed with me all the work they had done and answered any questions I had. The work was exceptional and I thought the price was very fair. I would definitely use RCI Roofing in the future and recommend them to our friends.
When the RCI sales rep came out he seemed professional, and we discussed in detail the scope of work. Being a "hands on" homeowner I climbed on the roof with him, and also showed him all the areas where the fascia boards needed to be replaced. Their quote was significantly lower than others, which should have been a red flag to me. The roofing repair was done well, and only required me to point out one or two places which required rework or completion. The fascia and trim replacement job was not handled well at all. Apparently the sales rep failed to correctly write the estimate and communicate it to the sub-contractor who performed the work. The result was that about 1/3 of the work was not completed when the sub thought he was finished. Also, some areas where boards were replaced they were not caulked. The only thing that saved this job was when Jesse from RCI intervened. He talked to the crew, reviewed the punch list, and got the work completed. But this took several extra days, the sub-contractor was not happy, and I was not happy.
If you use RCI I would suggest that you review the estimate VERY carefully, make sure it is detailed and complete to your satisfaction before you sign it and agree to give them the work. If you can work with Jesse I think you'll get a good job the first time, I cannot say anything good about the guy that was originally assigned to my job. I would have given RCI a D or F if Jesse had not fixed the issues.
I called him during construction about issues with the salesman, that's all he knew about the issues till he saw my Angie's List review. He said he wants to resolve this and he wants the bad review to disappear. I chose RCI because of the great Angie's List reviews and other reviews on the internet and customer referrals.
I used to own a business, it's my belief the people you hire should be a good representation of your company both in the work they do and the attitude they carry.
Jesse was very professional and even wrote a letter to my insurance carrier on my behalf.
I will use him in the future and also will recommend him to all my friends and family members.
All this was provided at a very reasonable $ amount. My thanks to Jesse. Mary Jo Smith
