I saw their promo so I messaged this company and they quoted $99 per unit (I have a two story house) for air duct cleaning. After they came, they told me that the upstairs unit needed additional cleaning with a brush, which meant an additional up-charge of $25 - so $225 total so far. They also "recommended" a lot of other things: 1. Although the Angie's List special states that they offer a free deodorizer, I wasn't offered this. Instead, they offered air duct treatment (sporicidin and vital oxide) for $300. 2. They told me that one of the A/C unit capacitors was about to die and they could replace it for $199. 3. They told me to add a float switch for $199. I took the invoice, made a copy of it and told them I wanted to look up the services online to see if they were worth it. At this point, the guy says "These are the company's prices, not our prices, so it could be more expensive." This should have been a red flag. After looking up some of the average prices online, I agreed to the A/C treatment (or fogging). However, I declined the capacitor after I read online that you can buy it from Home Depot for about $12 dollars and you can easily install it easily by yourself. I also declined the float switch, since I get my A/C checked regularly and the last air duct company didn't recommend it. After the technicians left, I went back to work. After I got back from work, I noticed that the thermostat was hanging loosely on the wall and not even turned on. I called the company and they told me that the technicians did not even touch the thermostat and that sometimes "these things happened." I told him that if they didn't touch it, how did they test the A/C to make sure it was working? I literally saw them turn the temperature down on the thermostat to test it. After a lot of back and forth on a Friday evening, the technician called and told me that he could not return to fix the issue that day because it was Passover. I respected his decision and he told he can come on Easter Sunday since I was going out of town for the weekend. The technician came on Easter and he told me that the invoice stated that I needed a new thermostat, because the battery was low. I looked it up on Youtube before he came (since I thought the thermostat issue was related to the battery too) and found out that there was no battery required for this particular thermostat. I told him this and he still argued that it required a battery and that it was probably my fault that the thermostat was broken. Also, he said, he wrote it down on the invoice that I needed a new thermostat. I looked at the final invoice (in yellow) and he circled "thermostat" under the section for A/C Service and Repair Services. I told him, I did not see this when he originally quoted me a list of recommended repairs. Also, I told him that I made a copy of the original invoice (before he changed it), because I made a copy when I researched the services (when he provided me with additional/recommended services). I showed him that my copy did not have the thermostat circled off. I told him that it was odd that we requested only a duct cleaning and after they left the float switch and thermostat stopped working. I told him that it was inconvenience for me to rush back into town after Easter. His response was, "It wasn't my fault that you decided to come back on a Sunday. (As you can see these people are scam artists and will change your invoice before they leave, so make a copy of the invoice when they give you during the initial quote like I did, because they will take it back and edit it before they leave). I told them that they could charge me whatever, but I was going to write a bad review to help other people. A day later, the A/C went out. I told them it is weird that before they came, my A/C was working fine (for years), and all of a sudden the thermostat goes out and the A/C stops working? The technician called and asked that I go up to the attic and take a picture of my unit and text it to him. He then said, the panel was not closed properly, which caused the float switch not to work. I am upset, because they came and messed up my thermostat and didn't put the mechanisms in the A/C back correctly, which caused They sent me an email too offering to return $100 if I would not write a negative review. Instead of claiming their refund, I am writing this review even though I got the check. I'm not going to cash it, because I think the truth is necessary. UPDATE: June 11, 2018 After I posted this review someone from this company posted a negative review on my personal business via Google. I work really hard for my business. Stay away.
