In general, the builder and the contractor grossly oversold the technology as well as their ability to install and set it up. They told us this job would take 3 days max. Realistically, they have spent a total of about 8 man days trying to install the systems and at this point they are about 70% complete with the installation and they refuse to come back to finish the job. While the "network showcase" is installed, it was installed incorrectly with the wrong components, not completely assembled and was not fit into the sheetrock properly until I made them come back and fill in the sheetrock around the box. They did install 3 high resolution cameras, but they are difficult to access over the internet (which was one of the major purposes of having the system installed). The process of configuring these cameras was something that they clearly did not understand - including the fact that I needed to request a static IP address from my phone company. The panel at the front door, when it was working, was so low resolution that you could not make out the faces of people standing right in front of the camera. A couple weeks later, the front door panel has completely stopped working and has no power. Of the other 2 security panels (one in the kitchen and one in the master bedroom), the one in the master bedroom was never installed. On the television distribution system they inserted RG59 (smaller than the industry standard RG6 cables) as main feed lines to the system which limits the amount of signal that is distributed. They left over 30 wires in our media room just sticking out of the wall and laying on the floor. They are not labeled or terminated correctly ? i.e., not even a cable jack. They did not install the final 2 nuvo amplifiers that I asked for to support our upstairs balcony and they did not install the AM/FM/XM radio module that I asked for. They were contracted to upgrade the speakers in 4 rooms. I can see that one set is new, but have no proof that the other speakers were replaced. I have asked them to tell me what rooms they changed the speakers in and they cannot tell me. They have promised directly and through the general contractor to come to our house and remedy these issues over a dozen times. Most of these times they just don?t show up or they fit us in between or after other jobs. None of the Cat5, phone jacks or television jacks is labeled in the rooms where they terminate and there is no documentation that shows where they connect in the "network closet". Very little training was provided on the system operation and while there are a few "owners manuals" it is not possible to understand how to use the system from this limited documentation. The work on this job was sloppy (similar to the rest of the work by Heavenly Homes contractors). Overall this was a horrible experience and I could not be less satisfied.
Description of Work: Our incompetent builder Heavenly Homes, contracted with this company to essentially upgrade our entire house audio, adding new Nuvo individual room control displays in every room, adding 7.1 Surround Sound to our media room, creating a network closet, with all components neatly installed, labeled and configured for easy reconfiguration and/or expansion. This network closet would also integrate Cat5 connectivity throughout the house as well as wireless support. The contractor was also to wire in a complete new security system with fully integrated smoke and Co2 detectors, 3 outside IP addressable security cameras with DVR functionality, 3 new security control panels including one at the front door that would show the 3 high res night/day image cameras as well as be able to control the alarm system. We were told by the builder and the contractor that they would be creating a "showcase" junction box and system for our house. We also asked for all the documentation and training for the system and they agreed.
