"We take all reviews of our services very seriously, whether they are good or bad. The voice of our customers always helps to improve our team. When hurricane Ike hit the Houston area in 2008 it was a chaotic time for the entire city. Unfortunately, there were more Generac equipment failures than we would have like to have seen with some being owner neglected and others with part failures. Jim Fish did go to see this customer in extreme weather conditions only to find the generator had been tampered with and there wasn't much he could do at that point. We were a dealer of choice that Generac technicians operated out of to assist in getting repairs done as quickly as possible. Between our team, the Generac team and waiting on parts from Wisconsin we got to customers as quickly as possible to get their generators up and running. We always strive to deliver 100% customer satisfaction as that is what this company was built on since 1981. Hurricane Ike created circumstances that were beyond our control but we did everything humanly possible during that time to address the needs of our valued customers."

"Thank you for sharing your comments with other Angie's list members. You have raised a great point for other members and that is once your generator is installed it needs to be maintained properly. Scheduled maintenance by certified technicians is key to years of worry free operation and dependability. Thanks again for your comments...we love hearing the voice of our customers!"
Jim Fish met with me and "listened" to my desire to have electricity in the event of a power outage. He personally came to my home and discussed my wishes and actually delicately talked me into a more basic system saving me a significant amount of money. Also at this same time we are having a swimming pool installed with both the generator and the pool equipment requiring natural gas. The gas meter is on the other side of the house and required $2100 worth of trenching and running of pipe to the generator and the pool equipment. Jim suggested we install a second gas meter and saved me $1100 by doing his way.
All of the personnel that did work on this project were professional and prompt. They explained the process and did exactly what they said they would do. They worked directly with the city and the suppliers so that I did not have to do this. The work was nicely done and the quality of the materials and the workmanship was top drawer.
I highly recommend this company.

Just know we are always here to support you after the sale. We didn't just sell you a generator, we started a relationship. Thanks again from our team!"
+ Their thorough analysis of my needs was far more confidence inspiring than other providers I dealt with.
+ Their clear explanations of the pros and cons of my choices resulted in a far better choice.
+ The prompt completion of each step of the installation far exceeded my expectations.
+ They were even flexible when I altered payment terms at the last minute.
You can feel confident working with the friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and fair team at Generator Power Systems.

My ONLY advice to anyone considering buying a generator is to realize that it will take more than one day to install your generator. The location must be selected and size generator on the first meeting. Second meeting will consist of pouring the slab. Third meeting will be digging and/or connection of gas-lines. Fourth meeting will be installation of generator and transfer switch. Fifth meeting will be hooking it all up and firing up for the first time. Depending on where you live, it could take more or fewer meetings due to permitting process and/or location. Once it finally fired up though, it became worth the wait.
I would recommend Jim and his team to anyone looking for a back-up generator solution.
"Thank you for sharing your thoughts with other Angie's List members. You raise a very good point for consumers to think about when considering a standby generator. Standby generators are not a "plug and play" piece of equipment. The install process takes time and coordinated efforts to make sure that customers receive a smooth installation process. We thank you for your review and the kind comments about the professionalism of our staff."
"Thank you for sharing your comments with other Angie's List members! You have made a great comment for other Angie's members to think about when hiring a contractor. When comparing quotes you all did more than compare the bottom line amount, you compared experience. We take great pride in taking care of you, our customer. Thanks again and we will look forward to serving you for years to come."
"We appreciate all reviews on our company, as it only helps us to improve our services to our current and future customer base. The homeowner provided our company with a survey of the property showing two septic tanks, not the third tank that the homeowner is referencing where the generator was set. It is not a normal practice prior to a generator install to dig several feet underground to see if anything is buried beneath the surface. We do however provide a gas, electrical and phone location prior to an install so as not to disrupt those services. There was no way that our company could have known that the third tank was present and if we would have been advised by the homeowner that is was present, we would have never installed the generator in its current location. We have been responsive to the homeowners requests and have tried diligently to assist in remedying the situation for them. The homeowner was given a price for moving the generator and work was scheduled to be done in a timely manor. We began the relocation process, however when the homeowner revealed that they weren't going to pay for the relocation, we discontinued the work that was agreed upon. Unfortunately, with all of our efforts to satisfy the homeowner we have not been able to find a solution that was acceptable to them."
"Thanks for sharing your comments with other Angie's List Members! It is our number one goal to provide customer service that is above and beyond our customers expectations."
