The glass panel was replaced, and the oven can be used again.
French's ordered the replacement glass on the Monday after Thanksgiving, and assured me that the oven would be fixed the next week. I made it clear we were having company and needed the oven repaired timely. They understood this timing requirement. Next week came, and I didn't hear from them. In the second full week of December, they finally called to say they were ready to install the glass, but it would be 10 days from that date! I reminded them that they had assured me they could get to this job quickly. They then attempted to juggle other customers' schedules. The service rep came on Monday, December 11. The replacement glass had been in their possession for at least a week and turned out to be completely wrong for my oven! During this visit, the service rep made inappropriate comments about the TV show I had on. I also had to clean up broken glass and dispose of the broken glass panel after he left. He advised that I could probably go ahead and use the oven but not for long periods, and I should probably cover whatever food is in there! Two days later on Wednesday, they call again to report that the correct part has come in. I had to do considerable juggling of my own schedule to accommodate them, but they did show up at the end of the day and successfully installed the correct part. They never acknowledged that this project had gone on way too long, nor did they apologize for any of the inconvenience.

I contacted French Services, and they scheduled me for an appointment for the next day between 12 and 5. When the repairman arrived, he got right to work and quickly determined that the plug wasn't the problem. He took the dryer apart, and after about 30-45 minutes found that there was power going to the dryer motor, but none coming out of it. He told me that the motor was a part that he didn't carry in his truck, but when he got back to the office, he would have someone at the office look up the price and contact me. The next day I received a phone call from French Services and they told me that they would have to order the part, and that it would cost $180 for the part and $190 for the service, minus the $95 I had already paid for the service call, bringing the total cost to an additional $275. Since the dryer was only worth about $350 new, I decided to get a new dryer. ***UPDATE*** So I bought a new dryer, brought it home, plugged it in, and nothing. Brand new dryer wouldn't even turn on. So I decided to have an electrician come and look at the situation. When the electrician arrived, it took him less than 10 minutes to figure out that the outlet was wired improperly. The ground and the neutral wires were switched. After fixing that issue, the old dryer started right up with no issues. I returned the dryer I just purchased, so wished I could get the $95 I paid to French Services back since they effectively did nothing.

Their service was good. They were very professional and they did a good job. I felt that they were good. They charge $95 for a visit. It was fair. They deduct the cost of repair from that amount if they do the repair. They came out on time. I am going to call them back again for repairing the washing machine and the dishwasher.

We had recently purchased a new cook top, and a few months after having it installed, it started intermittently having trouble. One of the burners would not light from the ignitor, and another burner would go out when put on low simmer. Since the product was still under warranty, we called Bosch, who gave us French Services. They came out the next day and were able to ascertain that we needed some parts. The serviceman left, and came back a week later with the parts, which he then installed. We have not had any trouble since.

I really like French Services for my appliance repair work, they are very quick to respond to you re call. I called them to replace two parts for me and they were very efficient in getting the work done. I have used this company for many years and they are very knowledgeable in all types of appliance repair.
