Sales initally went well. We found the floor plan we loved and the lot we loved. The building of the house went horrible. The house took longer than expected, the builder of the house could not read drawings or the superintendent didn't provide them... let me explain. We chose the option to have an additional room on the second floor. After seeing pictures during the bulld, I noticed the room hadn't been built. We chose a special tub that they would provide. The tub deck had to be built 3 times and the entire tile design in the bathroom is messed up because the height of the tub deck was changed after the shower tile had been placed... the grout lines now do not match. The design of the shower and tub walls was not followed. They asked us to place the outlet locations on the drawings where we wanted them... none of the outlets were installed in the locations we marked. The quality of the build is also shoddy. I have had multiple leaks in my roof due to improperly installed roof jacks that David Weekley refused to say was their problem. I had to have a 3rd party contractor come out to document and fix the problem, they were the ones who took the pictures of the roof jacks that were caulked over instead of installed correctly. The chimney leaked for approximately 4 months before they found that they never caulked around the penetration in the roof. The tile in the master bath was just discovered to have large cracks (not in the corners as expected) that were most likely never grouted well to begin with. Even my appliances that I purchased through David Weekley have broken early... The dishwasher broke after 3 years, the microwave after 1, Wash machine 4.5 yrs., Fridgerator 1 year., Air conditioner 1 year and now again at 5 years another freon leak...I understand they probably had nothing to do with this David Weekley but with all the problems... I have to wonder. After fighting with David Weekley for so long about the roof jacks (prior to the pictures) I gave up and found that paying out of pocket was worth not having to deal with David Weekley representatives and at least I know the job is done right the second time. Do not trust their warranty, they will fight you on everything until you give up. Do not pay extra for quality as I did, you don't get what you pay for.
