The work was eventually done properly, and office staff are polite and empathetic, but this was not worth the effort -- a truly disappointing experience.

A chlorinater is attached near where the work was done. The chlorinator cap could easily be removed prior to service, it is almost impossible to remove it now after the service. I was not there to see the work performed, but I surmised the workers replaced the cap extremely tight to where I cannot remove it without breaking the unit.
I called Blue Point, a CBS Company, about the problem. They assured me someone would come to my house between 3 and 5 p.m. on June 24. I left work early to be there on time at 3 p.m., I rushed and was home at 3. I called at 4:15 and 4:50 to ask the status of the service. I was assured twice I would get the service call that day. At 5:30 p.m. someone, I believe Chris, called to tell me he could not make it.
We then discussed the problem over the phone. He told me they were not responsible for the chlorinator. He was not there to see the work being performed and essentially said I was a liar for suggesting their workers might be responsible. He said he could go to my house some other day but would charge me $109 for a service call. He said if he tried to remove the cap and it broke, he would charge me for the installation of a new chlorinator.
I would not recommend this company because of their lack of professionalism and deceptive practices.

He showed up on time. He had all the necessary equipment to do the job. He took the time to show me what he was doing and how he would fix the problem. He was at my house about an hour. He was fast, courteous and professional. He cleaned up any mess he made during the repairs. I had called several other companies in the area and CBS was by far the most affordable. Two of the other sprinkler companies told me it would be a few weeks before they could even come and look at my system. One never bothered to call me back. I will use CBS for all my work.
"I had never heard about the chlorine issue prior to this Angie's List posting. I am aware of the pool over-filling. During a pool cleaning service visit, we turned her water on because the water was low. When we returned later that afternoon, we couldn't get to her house because there had been a shooting on her street and the police had the road closed. The customer turned the water off at 10PM. This had nothing to do with the pump going out a few weeks later, BUT we did replace her pump at OUR COST. The customer cancelled immediately afterwards."
"We were to [member name removed]house multiple times. He had just had a new pool installed and we were re-working his old sprinkler that had been completely destroyed during the construction process. There were lots of complications. Once we finished the sprinkler, there were some markings (that we may have made) on his new decking. It took us a couple of more visits and significant effort, but we ultimately took care of them so that his decking was perfect. We kept to our original estimate and finished the sprinkler restoration project. To my understanding, the [Member name removed]'s are satisfied with the outcome, but were very frustrated about the road to get there."
They say they are CBS services but ask to have the check made out to a different name of Smarter Sprinklers.
There are exposed pipes in some areas of the flower beds.
Their price is good. The yard is definitely receiving the proper watering.
I had probably every pool company in Houston come and give me an estimate along with their ideas of what would fit well in our back yard. I unfortunately figured out that every pool company must send their sales people to the same school.... Even when I was explicit about what I wanted, I received the same and quot;penut shapedand quot; rock pool that I personally dislike.
I was quite frustrated until Wade at Blue Point came in and when I told him that I could not decide between a deep or sports pool he suggested that with my yard, I could actually do both and built a proposal for me that hands down was the best I had seen. It was exactly what I had wanted and after a little negotiation, we went with them.
Wade subtlely steered me toward certain design features and away from others, the only things I regret are a couple of things that I did not listen to him about. for example the surfacing, I thought to save a little money there and would not do it again..
The paver idea was Wade's also and thank goodness, I had a slight depression a year later the area was holding water and they came in and fixed it imediately. This process was pretty easy even though the weather was not helping.
I think what I like the most is that Wade stayed with the process throughout.
Very hands on, he always knew what was going on.
I have made several recommendations to friends who have been also quite satisfied.
I will be using them for my knew home this summer.
