The only "downside" of Carnahan's is the pricing - and be sure to address any possibility of "up charging" at completion of the project. Ask Greg to tell you when completion of the presented landscape plans will result in increased charges to the contracted amount; don't assume all the plants and rock work will be included in the final cost.
"We did install a landscape project for his newly constructed home. During the start of the project, he noticed some marks on a couple of trees very close to the house. The marks could have been made by any of the exterior subcontractors, but he assumed it was us. I noted and expressed his concerns immediately to the crew. r asked that they pay extra attention to his trees. He focused on the same few marks and repeatedly considered them newly inflicted. I tried to reassure him that they were not new marks and that we were being as careful as possible. We also tried to salvage his two (2) Red Oak trees by removing excess construction dirt and debris from around their trunks. The fact that they were within ten (10) feet of the house and had endured six (6) months of construction traffic and neglect is difficult for any tree. Part of the initial project was installing sod. The sod we installed was for the front and back of the large lot with many trees and natural areas. We installed sod in all of the open areas for a neat but natural looking result. As the yard progressed, he subtracted for additional sod to be installed closer to his trees in some of his more shady areas, which he specifically marked himself. The work was completed in a timely manner and with a quality product. As the work was completed, everything was fine. Another happy customer invoiced 6/15/10. The invoice was paid promptly, no problems. No concerns were mentiol1ed. After two months pass, one of which being the second wettest on record, I received a call to consult on a not so good-looking yard. I was surprised to see he had been neglecting to address a fungal issue in the shady areas and dry spots in the full sun areas. I called to consult him and advised him to treat for the fungus and adjust the sprinkler timing for the dry spots. He felt that I should replace the sod even though it was past his thirty (30) day warranty. When I refused, he accused that the sod was dead when it was originally installed. However, that was not his opinion upon completion of the job. I feel that we gave him a quality, professional landscape installation and was surprised of his statements after two (2) months.
