Chris and 2 other men came to paint my home as scheduled. Since two of them were working on Saturday, I bought them a large pizza. I noticed they haphazardly removed and thrown my Hunter Douglas honeycomb blinds (about 26 of them) on the floor, so I tried my best to move them out of their way. On the 3rd day at around 4pm, Chris said they were almost done and ready to leave. I looked around and it seemed that they were far from done. The kitchen was still being painted. My quote included touch up of baseboards and door trims, which Carlos said his crew will caulk and make it look new. I also got a quote for 6 doors to be painted, that was not done either.
So I pointed out the work that was yet to be completed and they proceeded to continue painting. One guy painted the doors but when I went to check on the work, apparently he only painted one side - totally ridiculous and unheard of that the quote is for one side of the door, not both sides. I had to walk around the whole 3 story house, pointing out to the painter which baseboards needed to be touched up because he decided to not do it. In the end, he told me he didn't have any more white paint left. Seeing that it was 7pm and the other guy was in the truck waiting to leave, I gave up and gave them the check for $2400.
The next day I checked the quality of work, there were patches of paint and paint stains all over the house. I'm glad the house was empty and had no furniture yet. To top if off, Chris gave me his business card and told me he could come paint for me and not to tell Carlos about it. I had already paid Carlos for painting my house, why would I pay Chris to come finish the job he was paid to do in the first place?
Also, I realized the label on one remaining paint can said "Promar 200", not Super paint as promised. So I called Carlos to inquire about it and informed him that the painting was spotty and patchy - in some places the old paint was still visible. He assured me that Promar 200 is good paint and was only used in the kitchen. He never offered to fix the shoddy paint job. To fix the patchy spots, I went to Sherwin Williams to purchase flat/matte Super paint that Carlos' team supposedly used (because of the two colors I painted my home, they didn't give me any remaining paint for this one). To my dismay, upon painting and letting 48 hours to dry, it was obvious that I had patched up some spots because it was mismatched. The helpful people at Sherwin Williams mentioned that there is a difference in paint between Promar 200 and Super even if they are both the same paint color.
Carlos was the cheapest bid I got. You'll definitely get what you pay for.
The team exceeded my expectations in terms of service quality and timeliness. They were able to paint the interior of the house within 2 days. There were no messes and the team was punctual on arrival and departure. I would use them again.
The work went horrible. The ceiling took three times to get the texture to match. To be clear, you can never totally match the texture, but it was so bad that my 7 year old could tell.
The kitchen cabinets were not sanded so now the paint is chipping off and I have had to have two cabinet doors repainted. When I called and because they were cracking I was told because my house was settleing. Later to find out they did not let caulk dry (new cabinet door) and it cracked under the paint.
It was a horrible experience. I choose them based on two recommendations and becaue they "specalize" in texturing and faux painting. They were my highest bid!
Never again.
