Big Tex Tree Nursery

I was told the would dig the hole by hand. Maybe they did. We were not there. If they did the result is even worse. They knowingly dug through a sprinkler line, they pried it up. Rough break in the pipe and then took some of the line with them. Also, they cut the "common" wire for the sprinkler. All serious damage which they had to have known they did. All of this I discovered in a $500 bill for sprinkler repair. Then to add insult to injury, my NEW landscaper said he'd have offered the tree at 1/3 of the cost. So, I'm left thinking I got misled on the price and had to repair the sprinkler system as well. Horrible experience. So, when I went to landscape the rest of the yard, I didn't call BigTex.

We've purchased 4 trees from this company; 3 Cathedral Oaks and 1 Fantex Ash. The Oaks are doing amazingly well but the Ash appeared diseased; we went to their location and spoke to Luis about the Ash, he offered to replace it and took us on a tour around this huge lot (which we enjoyed): it was difficult to pick just one until he showed us the Red Oaks; gorgeous trees! We picked the one we wanted, he put our name on it, and took us back to the office where we completed the paperwork, set up the delivery date (they delivered on time) and sent us home with Moon Juice and a soil treatment (free of charge, his compliments). We plan on making some more purchases from them soon, not trees this time but some sort of colorful bushes, and we look forward to taking another tour to make our selections. We appreciate a company that appreciates its customers and stands by its guaranty and we look forward to going back.

I can't believe that a nursery of this size and reputation could be so DECEITFUL!! We bought and paid for eight bushes to be planted in our yard. In the meantime, before our delivery date, they sold out our plants to another customer. They did not have any more of our bushes and told us, when we finally called THEM that they wouldn't get any more in. The bushes that were originally delivered to us had all of the markings removed, so we couldn't even identify what they were.
When we confronted the nursery, we were told "oh, yeah - we sold your bushes to someone else, so we put something on the truck that we thought you would like. We won't have anymore of the kind you purchased."
DECEITFUL!!! DISHONEST!!! BAD, BAD BUSINESS!!!
We were told that we better come down to the nursery fast because they would not be getting another truck in and we wouldn't have much of anything to "swap out" for what we bought and paid for.
In the end, they did get another truck in and we got the plants that we had purchased, plus two extras. Still, I don't think I could trust this business again....

It went great. If you had dealt with this company in the past, you will be really impressed because they have truly stepped up their game. Customer satisfaction is now the top priority.4

I chose this nursery solely based on distance to my home. I wanted to see if I could purchase some plants but didn't know when they would be in season or arriving due to Houston's unpredictable weather. Nobody was able to give me a solid answer.

It went great. They did a really good job of working with us. They planted everything really fast.

They were good. I would recommend them. If you are looking fro trees, thats the place to go. They sell trees and plant trees.

I went to Big Tex in Conroe and was impressed with the variety and size of their plants and trees.  However, I did not end up buying from them because I thought their prices were really high.  It ended up being much more economical to use a professional landscaper.

We paid for a design proposal.  No design, no proposal. 
If they're too busy to sell trees, they should just say so.

The crew that came to plant the queen palms, specifically the supervisor, was rude and abusive to my young daughter. Five men were at my door hollering abusively at my 20 year old daughter that was home alone with her new baby. They threatened to dig up plants that were already in the ground and to leave with them if she did not sign as declining the palms to be staked in place (that the work order had called for).
They delivered ten plants that were not what we had ordered but promptly rectified the error the next day. The staff on 105 in Conroe and the selling staff in Spring on I-45 were knowledgeable, courteous, and accommodating on each visit we had made. The manager, Steve, was very apologetic and promptly rectified the delivery error but did explain that other members of the crew that were present confirmed the abusiveness did occur. .
They only deliver during business hours so arrangements were made for my daugher to be home to show the install crew where three queen palms were to be planted. (her only involvement) After they had dig three holes and planted 3 palms the guy told her that they were too close together to stake and that she needed to sign a document as declining this based upon it appearing on the origonal work order. She did what most daughters would do and tried repeatedly to reach me on my cell as I was several hundred miles away.
It took me approximately ten minutes to return the phone call and during this time, the installer told her that he needed to leave now and wasn't going to come back here but would remove the palms from the ground and take them back if she did not sign a document that stated she declined having the stakes done. He then told her he needed $120 in cash right now to do the stakes that were on the work order. We had already paid an additional $100 for them to plant the trees. My daughter was scared of the five men yelling at her and brought to tears.
When I brought this to the attention of a manager at the Conroe location I received a call on my cell a few hours later, from an installer that was equally abusive to me, explaining how wrong my daughter was. He tried to pick an argument with me by speaking loudly over my voice every time I tried to talk or express any point about his nonprofessionalism..

They were very helpful in helping us to select appropriate trees for our property and preferences. Unfortunately, one of the trees didn't make it onto the truck for delivery, but in speaking with the gentleman in charge of planting, he advised us to choose a different variety and made that change for us. Unfortunately, one of the trees didn't survive the most severe cold snap this winter, but that is to be expected. They say that they will "work with us" to replace that tree with something we can afford.

I just love love love Big Tex Trees! I went to the Spring location. I moved into a new townhouse and had an empty bland looking backyard that was desperate for some trees! I went to Big Tex Trees and was shown around all of their trees and options on suggestions to bring my backyard to life. They have quite a spread and it was fun looking around! They suggested putting a string of huge Privet Japanese Waxleaf Lugustrums along one side of my fence in the backyard to create a privacy wall between me and my neighbor. I also fell in love with a Bottle Brush Tree that I just had to have. On delivery and planting day, the team arrived hours late into the evening, because of a hard tree root extraction from an earlier appointment that turned into overlapping into my appointment. However, the delivery guy kept in constant contact with me telling me they are still coming. I was impressed they still showed up that same evening in the rain and with smiles! I was certainly willing to reschedule, but these guys kept to their schedule! From the sales office to the people who deliver and plant, Big Tex Trees provides a great service. They automatically guarantee the trees for 3 months, but if you call them just prior to the end of the 3 months, they will extend another 3 months. I called them today to extend the guarantee with no problems. They asked how the trees are doing, and they gave me suggestions to protect them through the upcoming freeze in a few days. My trees look wonderful and I get a lot of compliments from my neighbors. I am looking forward to buying some Red Maple or Red Oak trees from them in the Spring!

They delivered, planted and gave us fertilizer advised us how to take care of them. We also have a 3 month guarantee with them as well. They are large pretty oak trees. I was delighted with their services all the way around and I will be going back to them!!

Alison of Big Tex Trees was extremely helpful in showing us trees she would recommend as well as taking our plot plan and discussing on where best to put them. They were very communicative in their time to deliver and plant as there was rain on the day originally indicated they called and rescheduled and showed up on time. The installers were very knowledgable and helped tweak the layout. 
We feel the suggestions and layout will greatly improve the value of our 0.5 acre lot.
My wife considered to go buy more trees the day after they left due to the value. They also warranted the trees for 3 months and we can extend this warranty as well. 
Alison was extremely  knowledgable and talked us into some trees we had not considered for the Houston Climate. Great experience

The location i did business with is on I45N, near 1960. Ryan Olsen was the sales and plant guidance counselor i interacted with. he was AWESOME! i told him the purpose of the plant i want and he'd recommend the ones appropriate for the function. when i asked about plant i liked, and its intended purpose, he'd tell me if it's too much for that purpose, or won't serve my purpose in the long run. hence, i called him the plant counselor and not a salesmen. he didn't just sell me plants, he provided knowledge, and guidance that fits my needs. the great experience didn't stop there. the planting crew, headed up by Chris was awesome. he was intuitive and listened to what i was trying to accomplish with the bushes and he went from there. awesome guys!!!! i'd recommend big tex any day!

I was happy with the work they did. They planted two of the trees for free because they were late. I would definitely recommend them as they did their job. Though they were late they actually made it up by tiding the pipelines all over the other trees. I'm really happy with their service.
