The son kept asking me to use my tools, my trash bags, my broom, asked me for aspirin, asked me for water -- but not tap water, he wanted bottled water. He showed up unprepared every day. Once, when he was supposed to be cutting marble, he left to go find his dad to borrow his tile cutter. He was never on time, and never prepared. He would say he was coming at 8:30 and show up at 9:30 or 10, and then be ready to leave by around 3 or 4.
The son also left a leak from my tub that went into the closet of a bedroom and ruined the carpet there. The water also leaked into another bedroom so they moved a dresser and a bookcase and had to cut up that carpet, too. They even weren't paying attention and trapped my cat under the dresser. I was able to get her out but I didn't notice she was there until after they left. That was very scary.
They cut a hole in a closet that they were about to leave, but when I asked them about it, they put sheetrock over it.
The son swore at me after I told his dad what was happening, and his dad called him. The son said "I will finish your d*** job." And then he never showed up again.
The dad was supposed to come over and see the problems but he made an excuse the day he was supposed to come.
When the son didn't show up on Friday, May 16 I called the dad. He said he would try to find the son, but the son wasn't taking his calls. I had to keep calling the dad to find out what was going on.
The son even tried to get me to give him cash instead of a check, which I did NOT do. He also wanted me to pay him in full for the job before it was done, saying he needed it to pay his helper.
The son is dishonest and also careless, the dad isn't too worried about making it right.
