I scheduled an appointment with Joey to give me an estimate for some landscaping work. He forgot about the appointment until I called him, resulting in him being 1 1/2 hours late. Following our meeting, he was supposed to provide me with a quote for the work we discussed, but I haven’t heard from him. I’ve since read reviews on Backyards Plus. He either is a 5 star, or a 1 or 2 star based on the reasons I’ve cited above. Not sure if he treats all potential customers this way, or maybe my project wasn’t enough $$$ for him. I was ready to have him do my landscaping project and take over my lawn service. Doesn’t seem to want the business.

Joe was wonderful. He and his crew did a wonderful job. After a freeze he replaced 2 plants. He moved my sprinkler shut off out of the front flower bed. Figured out why backyard was still flooding. He answered all of my questions. He crew got everything done in a timely manner.

Backyards Plus offers a new roof blowing and gutter cleaning service for a fraction of the cost of other local options. We didn’t even have to be home for the roof cleaning. Always a pleasure to work with this company. Professional, fast and affordable! We recommend them to everyone we know!

Going great and planning to keep using them

I have engaged Backyard's Plus regularly since they did my landscaping a few years ago. I have been pleased with the initial landscaping project 5-6 years ago, as well as the weekly yard service that they perform. The owner, Joey Rodriguez, came out to work up the initial landscaping design and to manage the installation. I had a few landscapers come to the house to submit their designs, but Joey was the only one who understood what I was looking for and prepared a plan to satisfy my expectations. The crew that comes out regularly does a great job. I have been very satisfied with all of the work that Backyard's Plus has done for me. They are good people, who provide excellent service.

Joe Rodriquez is very professional, and offers a wide selection of services. I was first introduced to Backyards Plus by several neighbors, who have used him for years. I am looking forward to a well kept beautiful lawn. Best wishes

Joe is the owner and personally came out to provide the design and recommendations. His crew was very professional and completed the work and cleanup to our satisfaction. We have had positive comments on our landscaping from neighbors that pass by. Backyards Plus also does our weekly cutting and trimming and they are the first company that we are satisfied after trying three other providers.

All work has been done professionally and on time and within the quoted amount.

Joe was very communicative via text and email. His team was able to get the projects done on time, and I have been happy with the work.

Never called for us to get a quote. Went with the company that did respond.

I requested a quote and the response was "Yes send me your address and phone number and I’ll take a look at the yard and get you a price". I sent my information back within 15 minutes. It has been 2 weeks since I have gotten a response. Such as shame since the reviews reflect that their service is good.

I hired Joe to remove our old landscaping that had died in the freeze and put in all new landscaping behind our pool last summer. Shortly after I sent him pics of our rose bushes and Indian hawthornes bc they didn't look right. He responded they needed more water. About a month later I noticed our lantana had stopped blooming and discovered they had a full blown mealy bug infestation which I sent him pics of. I inspected the other plants and discovered not only mealy bugs but that my plants were completely infested with white flies, scale and plant hoppers. What he had claimed was underwatering of my Rose's was actually sooty mold and powdery mildew and the Indian hawthornes had leaf spot. When we spoke on the phone he claimed none of that was from him but he would send his guy out to spray for a month. Gus came out 2 times to spray them stopped. When I questioned Joe about spraying for the whole month he claimed his guy said everything my backyard was healthy which was a complete lie. I even sent Joe pics taken the day after my plants were planted that showed mealy bugs upon zooming in. As well as current pics with everything dying and infected. I told him I wanted the plants replaced as he had a disease guarentee. When confronted with the pics and his previous emails he then claimed those weren't the plants he planted! Needless to say all of my brand new landscaping he planted for $1800 died from the infestation and disease as well as infected the other plants I had previously in my yard. I also discovered he was not licensed to spray pesticides, which he had his guy do twice, so I reported him and he was fined. Joe ripped us off by planted diseased and bug infested plants, refused to fix them, wouldn't honor his disease guarentee and sprayed pesticides in our yard with out a license to do so. When he was confronted with picture evidence said he didnt plant the plants in my pics. Just yesterday we discovered that instead of removing an old palm tree like he was hired to do they dug below the soil line and just cut the tree leaving a huge stump that they simply reburied for us to find a yr later while we were trying to plant other plants!! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
