 + -1 moreWhy cant everyone be like Sandra ?, professional, caring, understanding . I have used these. Guys a few times and they are good . They show up fast and on time. They do what you ask and treat you with respect, like your the most important person they know. I'm talking about five( 5 ) different employees. And the invoice has never put me in shock ( Very Fair ). I will only use this company.

 + 0 moreI had an assortment of small electric issues. I made a list and he went through the tasks quickly and with a great attitude, explaining to me all along what was the issue. Could not be happier with the result.
Description of Work: Rewired my fountain, replaced a couple of exterior outlets, replaced an outdoor sconce, fixed some internal fixtures. Fixed many things that had been a problem for years.

 + -1 moreThe crew was very professional (Journeyman + Apprentice), thorough, timely and neat. Work was done without incident and the work site was cleaned prior to departure. Issues were dealt with quickly and according to code. I will use this company for all my future electrical projects.
Description of Work: Installed an Automatic Transfer Switch at my residence to manage the integration of a standby (emergency) generator into the utility company electric power to my home. When utility power is absent or above/below required voltage, my generator takes over and powers the entire house until utility power is restored. THIS IS NOT A SIMPLE PROJECT !

 + 1 moreIn an attempt to help my 80+ year young mother with finding a reputable electrician to upgrade the electricity in her 60 year old home, I searched Angie's List to find one. And once again, I was not disappointed. The owner of CHC Electric, Dennis Nollkamper, is a top-notch professional. He made time to personally go to my mother's house and very patiently listened to her concerns and took note of the upgrades she wanted. Everything was done according to code and my Mom now has a strong sense of security knowing that the electrical wiring in her humble abode is sound.
Description of Work: Upgraded electric service for a 60 year old house. Supplied and installed new 200 amp overhead electric service. Obtained all the necessary permits to ensure City's code compliance was met. In the Kitchen: Installed one new 240 volt 30 amp circuit for AC unit; installed new 4/40 wrap-around fluorescent fixture (supplied by us); installed 2 GFI plugs on each side of sink. In the front bedroom: Installed new ceiling fan (supplied by us); wired for a new 20a 125 volt AC plug. In the living room: wired for a new 20a 125 volt circuit for A/C; installed new ceiling fan (supplied by us). In the master bedroom: Installed new ceiling fan (supplied by us); installed a new 20a 125 volt circuit for a new A/C.

 + -1 moreThey installed new breaker panel and breakers. They changed the size of several breakers and now we cannot run both air conditioners or heaters at the same time. They claim that they installed the right breakers to bring it up to code. The problem is our heaters and air conditioners have been working for 26 years. After the repairs, they don't. CHC will not correct the problem, claiming that they have done things according to code. The problem is it doesn't work and it did work for 26 years. CHC refuses to correct the problem.

 + -1 moreOur phone and fax line has been troublesome for some time. We alternately experienced periods of static on the line or outages where the lines would not work. AT&T came out and did us no good. We contacted CHC Electric and they spent a lot of time troubleshooting the system before determining and effecting a fix. We are very pleased that these folks spent the time to troubleshoot the system, locate the problem and fix it. They were prompt, courteous and professional.
Description of Work: Replaced phone wiring so our phone and fax would work.

 + 0 moreWe had an excellent experience with this company on both jobs. I would highly recomment CHC Electric and will use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I have used CHC Electric twice. The first time was to hang a fan. The work was fast and very professional. The second time was to install an outlet in our well house. They came out on a very cold day and installed the outlet. Later on I noticed a small problem and they came back out after hours and took care of everything with a smile. Both of the jobs came in at or below the estimate. I have been very impressed by everyone that I have worked with in this company and will call them for any future electrical work.
