Cheap Thrills Decor llc

Same experience as other reviewer. After reviewing their website, I loved their style and wanted to bring that funkiness into my home. Jamie came and gave me I her recommendations and pressed me on a budget. I feel like rather than trying to be under that budget, she pushed me over it which was annoying. After the install it DID look great, however after being on a tight budget I was really upset that every time I was at Target, Kirklands or some other budget store I would see my accessories that she gouged me on. I wanted unique accessories, like they had in their warehouse...found objects they slapped some paint on that looked awesome. But instead I got Target, Kirklands, and Bed bath and Beyond and got to pay double or triple for the items.

 

When Cheap Thrills arrived in January they were full of such fun and innovative ideas. At the beginning they were so responsive and prompt. However, once the work started the owners/designers were rarely on site. Our project started in January and well into June. We paid a "Design Fee".  However, the Designer showed up only to give her ideas and pick fabrics and did not show up again to even see the finished product. We had workers coming and going on various days and times without any firm time commitment on whey they would show. One day I was home alone, and came out of the shower to find a worker who had let himself in at 3PM in the afternoon because he was told from his boss that he could just come in and do some work. In addition, we had some curtains installed. My one request was that the fabrics(drapes) pooled on the floor. Once they were installed, they did not pool and they were crooked. The Owner was very unresponsive and told us this is what we had discussed...which was not true. Luckily, one of the Assistants Julie did end up taking the drapes back and at least making them even...no pooling but at least even. We had an entertainment unit custom built...while we saw the first sketch we made changes to the design and verbally discussed the type of unit we would like and how we would like to change the sketch. One day without notice, our unit arrived without our requested changes and without being the color that we wanted. We assumed they would install and stain. However, the unit showed up all stained in a color that we did not like at all. She told us we could change it, but it would be at our expense. I guess she figured she had complete control and even chose the colors for us without showing them to us or discussing at all.  In the playroom, we had roman shades installed.  They are very cheap looking and constructed very poorly.  The pull is on backwards and when we raise the blinds they bunch up and do not fold properly.  We expressed all of this many times in emails and on the phone and were told by Cheap Thrills that this was our problem and once again non-responsive.    Finally, we have damage to our walls, paint spots on our woodwork of our new home, and plastic hole covers for the unit that were never delivered as promised.  We sent another email expressing our concerns and Cheap Thrills seemed to be perfectly content with leaving us unsatisfied, and with the project not 100% complete.    I will never recommend this company to anyone and in the future will seek someone with more experience and expertise. Buyer beware!    

Everyone at Cheap Thrills were very professional and personable. Jami and Bob made the initial visit to help determine our style and suggest paint colors, granite type, etc. Their staff and contractors do great work and are careful and clean while working. All of my calls and/or emails were replied to in a timely manner. We are very pleased with the final results and will certainly call Cheap Thrills again for any future remodel work.

We spent over a year working with this company. Since we had not used them before we started with two rooms. Once that was complete we were hooked and as our budget permitted we tackled another room then another, etc, etc. We have worked with other contractors before and had the best experience by far with this company. There were the occasional delays and things that didn't quite work for us, but they were quick to fix them and make it right. It was a good experience, and when I'm ready to tackle another project, they will be the first I would call.

Bob and Jami walked us through every step of the redesign and remodel projects from Oct-May. Came out to meet with us in person when any questions arose, and were available to communicate via email, text and phone almost anytime day or night, weekend or weekday. Worked many Saturdays in order to get finished on schedule. Worked with our budget and provided options to save but also encouraged us to spend our money in certain key areas for maximum impact and longevity. Their staff of carpenters, painters, laborers, and designers were always friendly and energetic. Their contracted services were quick and any problems that arose were mostly handled quickly and exceeded our expectations, except for their flooring sub-contractor which was nothing less than horrible in the end.

In the end my only major complaint is that six months after the remodel the floors warped and had to be sanded down and refinished, but they did not finish them very well.  One year after the completion of the original major job, the finish has lots of small dust bubble spots, and there are uneven surfaces in several places that I have asked to be fixed and have gotten no action/response from company.
