The entire process from selecting the hardwood to getting the estimates to scheduling the work was done on time and in a professional manner. Noah was very keen on ensuring that our requirements were met in terms of quality of work, type of product and timelines. Overall, a great experience and we will certainly not hesitate to go to them for any other flooring work in the future.
The salesman, Wes Maddern, was knowledgeable and helpful in selecting the flooring for home. They were prompt in ordering and installing the flooring. Milton supervised a crew of three workers, The workers had to remove carpet and baseboards and scrape out the old vinyl flooring under the carpet. They leveled the floors prior to installing the hardwood floors. They did an excellent job installing the flooring and it turned out beautiful. The crew also installed new baseboards in all three rooms which turned out beautiful.
After the workers finished the job, the workers cleaned up the inside and outside of our home.
The sales office at Rufe Snow and Loop 820 is a little disorganized. Don was eager to show me certain selections that he knew were good sellers or on sale or highly rated. When I specifically asked about something I found through the Carpet One website, ti took a little digging to find. The store may be in a temporary location as they moved here from the store on Airport Freeway due to construction and now Loop 820 is under construction. The store is in a large strip center with very few tenants. We only ever saw our sales person Don and one other person who Don described as the store manager. We were in the store three times and only saw the manager on site one time and even then just for a few minutes as he said he was going to a doctors appointment.
The installation of the tile took two days and the carpet one day. They did a great job moving all the furniture and putting it back. Including taking the beds apart and putting them back together. We have a very heavy California King memory foam mattress and there was no extra charge.
The day after the tiling was complete we noticed one tile that wasn't level with the rest- if you ran your foot across it, you would likely stub your toe! I called and they came back out within hours, used a saw to cut the grout, removed the tile and reset it level with the rest.
I'm not sure but I think the tile contractor that Carpet One used sub-contracted the job. I don't mind so much because they did a great job, but if the contractor can afford to sub the job, maybe I paid too much? Perhaps the contractor was busy and had to sub it so I don't want to jump to conclusions. The job was started the day after I received a call from the Carpet One warehouse that they received the tile from Houston (they did not have the tile we selected in stock but honored the sale price).
