Above & Beyond Landscaping

I couldn’t be more pleased with Joseph and his crew. After two bad experiences with other landscapers, we hoped the third time would be the charm. It definitely was. We needed to have an old root system dug out of our front flower bed, new soil brought in, reshape the bed, and beds built. They did a fantastic job and listed to all of our needs. They didn’t try and push a bunch of other services on us that we didn’t need, and they did the work extremely fast. I would definitely recommend and I will be using them again in the future.

The reputation of a business is revealed not when things go right, but when things go wrong. (Think United Airlines) Above and Beyond Landscaping in Southlake does not go "above and beyond" and stand behind their work. They do not honor their verbal representations and replace trees that die (or, as in our case, partially die) within a year of planting. Even the Home Depot and Lowe's do that, and they don't plant them. We expected more for our significant investment. Mowing lawns is one thing, but high-end landscaping is another and requires a higher level of customer service. Sadly, Above and Beyond Landscaping does not meet that standard. Buyers beware. We recommend anyone looking for landscaping installation to find a professional and reputable firm that stands behind their work. If you do decide to use Above and Beyond Landscaping of Southlake, you may wish to get it in writing that they will warrantee their trees/plants. However, expect them to "mark up all plants 30% for that warranty." Their words, not ours. This would make them much higher priced than their competitors. We have the estimates to prove it. Also note that Above and Beyond Landscaping doesn't take kindly to criticism. Angie's list members, pay attention to how they blast a potential customer and let's see how they react to a paying customer.

Above & Beyond has been our regular landscaper for a few years. Workers have logo shirts and trucks; they are efficient. This was our annual Spring prep, except they had uncrowded the front beds last Fall and I wanted to add 3 Encore Azaleas. Joseph advised against that because the location had too much sun. So I chose Belinda's Dream roses, said to prefer full sun, and Joseph went to 3 nurseries to find them. They look great, and so does my yard.

We were very pleased.  We also use them for installing Christmas lights at our home.  We've used them for this the last 3 years and they are terrific!

They are very responsive via email or phone.

They are very professional and are on time. They do what they're supposed to do and don't overcharge. He has been very helpful in getting my lawn to green up, too.

We have been very happy with their work. They are fast and do an excellent job! When we have needed any additional work done, (flower beds, trees, weeding, etc) we simply send an email. Joseph is very fast to respond with an estimate and then gets the job done ASAP! Would highly recommend Above & Beyond for great service!

We first used a special offer on Angie's List and continued service through the summer of 2014, until we moved away.   A crew of four showed up each week, three cutters and one trimmer guy.  I had 0.70 acres of land and they mowed it in about 40 minutes using hand mowers only.  They trimmed very nicely around all sidewalks, stepping stones, and driveway.  They then blow off all the hard surfaces, including around my pool area.  Overall an excellent and professional job.  I would still be using their service except we moved away from the area.  Once I was on a trip (Not at home) and the company owner e-mailed me that they didn't cut the grass because "it didn't need it and the grass was too dry".  I thought this was exceptional service.  Billing is easy and we always paid on line.

Joseph and his crew prepared the yard for new grass, removed all of the dead bushes and made the bed ready for new plants and mulch.  The welcome rains delayed the work a bit, but the work is now complete and the makeover is beautiful! All the plants and bushes are a nice size and the grass is so green.  He and his crew work well together and we definitely will call Above & Beyond to come and transform our backyard. We definitely got what we paid for and more!  We highly recommend Above & Beyond for all landscape work.

I have used Joseph several times over the past year or so.  He is the best of the best. Quality service and a fare price, every job of his is  so organized from start to finish. There are never any surprises.  He is very professional with superior communication during service.  I wish everybody was like him.

The lawn mowing went great

We just moved to Southlake this summer. I found Joseph through Angie's List. He came to my house and provided an estimate on weekly lawn maintenance. $55 which is higher than most but he blows out the leaves from my pool deck and lawn and we have almost 1/2 an acre. He was willing to negotiate off his first price. He also provided advice on flower bed clean up and will weed from time to time without me asking - just includes the cost in the invoice. His invoices are payable online which I really like. He keeps an eye on the weather and sends his crew a day earlier if it will be raining on my appointed day (Friday which I like so the kids have shorter grass to play in on the weekends). He referred us to his twin brother Jonathan for sprinkler service which was also performed professionally. My husband and I have both been very happy with Joseph.

Our house is one of the best on the block, as I was watering one day, a neighbor stopped by and said how great it looked. Joseph is very responsive and kept me up to date on decisions around the look of the house as things came up-as they always do. He wasn't afraid to call in a tree service and get some plumbing assistance with a plugged sprinkler when it made sense. The company is great, and well run. I am continuing to use them for my regular service. Highly recommend.

I have used Above & Beyond Landscaping for several years and they were wonderful. I liked the punctuality, the communication, if they weren't going to be there, they called. If they were going to be late even 5 minutes, they called, I mean incredibly good in that.
