John was extremely diligent and professional even though we experienced record excessive rainfall causing long delays in all the outside work. We replaced nearly every floor, wall covering, faucet, toilet, lights, appliances and door knobs. John had excellent sub-contractors including the plumber, electrician, flooring people, tile people, and stamped concrete team. John did the major woodworking himself and with his team. The crowning work was the new, large roof over the back patio which gives us a spectacular new outdoor living area.
Description of Work: Nor-Tex Remodeling, John, was our prime general contractor for a major home/ranch house remodeling. This included remodeling everything in the 5 bedroom 3,100 sq. ft. home and removing two old barns and overseeing construction of the new barn.

I can only say that after getting burned by so many poor quality contractors, it was great finding John and his crew. He is a straight shooter, quiet, very responsive, and hard worker. I had a unique situation where I had a criminal builder walk off a job, I had my roof open around a 30x15 dormer that was leaking. Same with side of new garage. John brought his crew over and did an amazing job of closing everything in, sealing it all up, doing the roofing, siding, caulked everything tight, corrected garage side, ridge cap, etc. He even had to tear down badly done carnish and redid all of it. I would highly, highly recommend John for anything you need. He does a lot of things, just call him. Thanks, John!
Description of Work: Closed in new upstairs gable, including flashing, roofing, and hardy board siding. Installed ridge cap and attic vents. Corrected and completed a valley on other side of house near new garage that was left exposed.

John was good about keeping in communication with me. He quoted a Hardy board install with paint, and trash haul off for 2 gables at approx $1600.00. I've heard several comments about the product cracking. Sears, my other bidder, had a new, heavy vinyl product with a cedar shingle look, in a color appropriate for the house. Sears saw the same need for update on a wrapped-box window. The salesman also noted the condition of the dish hanging on the east gable. They were expensive, but the product, the warranty, the coordinated material from window to gable, and the turn-key job by a national company won me over at under $5000.00.
Description of Work: The house is approximately 20 yrs old. After a new roof, two gables showed their poor shape, from the original minimal workmanship, with cracks, missing trim, paint loss, etc, and needed repaired.

It took a few days more than was estimated, but that was because of things beyond the contractors control. Overall, the work was done meticulously and professionally. John and his son knew what they were doing, delivered exactly what they promised for the price they estimated. We made a few changes as the job progressed and they were handled without a problem. We were well pleased with the work, the work crew (the owner of the business, John Drose and his son) and would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to a friend.
Description of Work: We had a 6x19 ft porch added to our existing structure plus two windows and a double door added.
