Withal, he does a capable job. But he did the job--on the next day--by hiring other guys to help him install it quickly, despite my previously telling him not to get in a grandious hurry or aquire his utmost, expedited services or otherwise reinforcements: presumably, at least on hind sight, that is where he went overboard, but I doubt that this would have made his price all that affordable, since my friend,whom lives in an even more rural/remote location, got a high price too( $60.00,for all told, a 5 minute job of tightening a nut on an unskilled job on the tub's cold Water knob,)
He said he "local", allegedly, yet all he is doing is using several cell phone numbers to "bait" customers as being local, hence one lulled into thinking there is no "trip charge" . . . . But all the cost is already on the ticket, and which you will be getting when he deals you a final blow in his final total: higher by far than any estimate I previously got.
THis fellow basically just deals this unscrupulously ("bait-n-switch")manner because he can take full advantage--or so he figures--get to the customers living in the rural/remote locations at their expense, and whom he can subjugate with his radically inflated pricing.
"I am sorry you had a terrible experience. However, I have checked all of our records for 2013 and 2014. We, Interactive Plumbing, have never done any work for you. You must have us mixed up with someone else. Please check your invoice for the correct company. Also, we only have one office phone number (979) and one cell phone number (281) and we are "locally" in Sealy. If you would like to speak to us, please do not hesitate to call our local number. 979-885-0022."
"This job was started on Aug 26, 2014 and is not completed as of Sept 23, 2014 due to a ground electrical problem on gas line. We are still waiting for Mr. (member name removed) to get the electrician out so we can complete our job."
The Insurer, American Water Resources, responded to my claim immediately, calling in Interactive Plumbing, a small independent firm based some distance from my home. This distance concerned me at first because obviously, without any water, I had a somewhat critical situation on my hands and needed repairs immediately.This concern was eliminated a short while later, when the firm's owner called to report that he would be here within a couple of hours to see how they could help.
True to his word, Mr. Kenneth Amador,showed up within 4 hours of my call to AWR insurance!
His first analysis of the problem was that the break appeared to be under the slab and as this is not typically covered under my policy, I was afraid I was facing a huge expense. When I called AWR to determine for sure the extent of my coverage, their claims person asked to speak with the contractor (Kenneth), who explained in detail the situation, to which the AWR person replied, send him a proposal and he'd see what could be done. By 6:00 PM Kenneth had not only transmitted the situation to AWR, but AWR had given approval to fix the broken line under my coverage.
As I needed the break fixed regardless of coverage, I had already asked Kenneth if he could fix it first thing the next day and he said, that if I could have 2 rather large bushes which were blocking access to the break removed that evening, he would be here. Again true to his word, Kenneth and an apprentice showed up early the following AM and 3 work "hours",(time out for trip for parts and lunch), later, I had water again!
Kenneth's empathy with my situation, honesty, punctuality, and follow thru, along with a "can do" attitude, should earn him special recognition with Angies list!
I would add that While this report is not about American Water Resources, they too earned my admiration, respect and endorsement for the promptness with which they handled my problem and their willingness to help solve it quickly!
