AC broke Friday night. Left a message with Craig that evening and he was over the next morning. He identified what he thought the problem was (blown circuit board on the compressor) however none of the suppliers had the part on hand. Part delivered Monday and was installed by 8:30 AM, however the AC unit did not come back on immediately. A few hours of wiring troubleshooting were required before the A/C was back up and running. I have used Rock-Solid in the past and will continue to do so in the future. In my experience the owner/operator Craig Griggers is hardworking, honest guy that gets the job done for a fair price.
Description of Work: Repaired broken A/C unit.

I previously had a very good experience with Rock Solid Heating and A/C (see my previous post) this summer. At that time Mr. Griggers had said that he could replace my unit for about $8.5 k. This fall I obtained an energy audit from another company and they recommended a heat pump as our heat was all electric and we got killed last winter. The Rock Solid written bid was substantially lower than the others and in line with the estimate from the summer. Rock Solid ended up doing the work for exactly what their bid was. The install was relatively painless and took place over three days. Heat pump is up and working great. I have already told my friends about Craig and Rock Solid and would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Removal of old AC unit and air handler with installation of new 4 ton heat pump, air handler, and controller wire. No new tubing was needed.

My airconditioning went out saturday night. I called the guy the previous owners listed as the AC contact. The provided number was his mobile number and it didn't go to an answering service. He was able to come out Sunday afternoon and diagnose the problem and fix it. My air handler was working fine but the compressor wasn't spinning up. Turns out the capacitor was bad. Normally it is soda can shaped. This one had the top expanded out like a soda can that had been dropped. I was lucky enough to have a minor failure but it was nice to get it taken care of in less than one day and on a weekend! Mr. Griggers was very professional and seemed like a good guy and not some slippery sales guy. We will definitely be calling him in the future when things go south.
Description of Work: Replaced capacitor on compressor.
