I'd been shopping around for some work at a few places around the area. I saw that Benjamin's had good reviews, so decided to give them a call and hold out on going to the other places I contacted until I heard back from them. I called and asked for a quote. The guy that answered told me he needed to double check and would give me a call back. It was near the end of the day and I needed to make a decision on where to take my car soon. I asked how long it would be. He responded with "30 minutes." I waited around for the rest of that evening and the next but did not recieve a return phone call. I guess Benjamin's doesn't need the business!

The prices are fair and reasonable, sometimes I think he could change more actually. You can trust this man to do what he says he can do.

We've been using Benjamin's Automotive for almost 9 years now and are very highly satisfied customers! We have a classic car that is difficult to find parts for, but Benjamin has been successful at finding parts and getting it running well at a fair price. Among other things, he has installed a rebuilt engine successfully, kept a finicky carburetor tuned up, and repaired a vintage air conditioning system. He has always been very friendly, courteous, and prompt in his dealings with us. We plan to continue using Benjamin's Automotive in the future.

My Dodge pickup has a growling in the rear differential. I put it up on stands and used a mechanic stethoscope with the engine on and the transmission in gear to determine the source of the noise. It turned out to be the bearings on the pinion. I purchased a differential rebuild kit initially intending to do the work myself but decided that perhaps it was better to have a professional do the work. The mechanic shop I normally use said they would install a rebuilt differential (resulting in a lot higher parts cost) but not replace bearings on an existing differential. I found Benjamin's on Angie's list and tried three times I believe it was to phone them to see if they would do the work. All I got was their voicemail and none of my calls were returned.

I am hesitant to submit an overall rating of and quot;Fand quot; but there is only one category in which I could rate them since that was my only involvement with them. I checked and quot;yesand quot; on would you use them again because based on the other ratings they had they seem to do good work and I guess perhaps if I had gone to their shop rather than call, I might have gotten a better response--but then I am working when they are working and I would hate to miss work time to get a and quot;No, we only install rebuilt differentialsand quot; answer.

Talk about punctuality! I called the number from google maps after hours to leave a message in voicemail and received a call from Benjamin himself in about 10 minutes. IMy "check engine" light was on and I went to Benjamin Automotive the next day. Benjamin told me what was wrong check a few things and had me back on the road in no time. I'll definitely return...and yes it passed.

Benjamin (the owner) spoke with me directly on Friday morning. The car had been experiencing intermittent electrical problems, including a cutoff of the ignition, lights, radio, console indicatgors, and turn signals at different times. He drove the car personally, including driving it home overnight, logging approximately 20 miles. He called Friday afternoon to indicate that he had found the problem, and was ordering parts for the next day. On Saturday afternoon at about 5:00pm, he called to tell me the car was ready for pickup. Benjamin is very knowledgable about a wide variety of domestic and import cars. I have taken a number of cars to him, including a Chrysler PT Cruiser, Dodge Intrepid, Dodge Neon, Acrua TL, and Volkswagen Jetta TDI. He is always prompt, offers an honest assessment with no pressured up-sell, and presents me with the old/damaged parts when complete. I always deal with him personally, both via phone and in person.
