Old Town Antiques

I had been using two folding banquet tables in my craft room and had been searching everywhere for a table that was the correct dimensions for my room. No kitchen, dining or conference table was what I needed and I looked all over! A couple of my friends told me about their friend and her Dad who made custom furniture. I spoke with Rachel on the phone and I told her what I was looking for. She wanted me to go to their place in Schertz to see some of their work but I told her that I had seen some of their furniture and I trusted her. I sent her a few pictures of other furniture pieces in my home as I like modern/contemporary furniture with clean lines and told her that I didn't really like dark wood! She sent me a picture of a piece that they had recently made from pecan wood and I loved it (I did need to check with my allergist though as I am allergic to pecan but she said that it would be ok as the table would be sealed). I sent off my deposit having never met her or her Father or seen any of their work in person! 8 days later I received a text from her (my favorite way to communicate) and she advised me that my table was ready and did I want to go look at it. I responded that I didn't need to see it as I trusted them and it's not like I wouldn't accept delivery! She told me that they usually don't deliver but I told her that I didn't have a truck and so they just charged me for gas to deliver! So today I received my table and it is absolutely stunning. The wood is amazing and they totally nailed the design, completely and utterly my taste! I am so in love with my table I should probably go on that show where people make love to their cars etc. ;-) Rachel and Fred (Dad) are very personable and I can't recommend them enough. I'm actually thinking they should probably make me some cabinets or something for my craft room next!!
