Started out ok, but the ending was less than acceptable. Friendly at the start and they were timely for the appointment. They started out well and trimmed many branches, but as time went by, they slowed down considerably. By the time 4 hours had elapsed, they claimed they were tired and had completed what they came to do. We're good people and rarely argue, but some of what we wanted done was never completed. We assumed they would finish, but they were actually done. Don't know about you, but $1800 for 4 hours of labor and an incomplete job seems excessive to us. We're retired and not wealthy people ... we worked hard for what we have. We never made $450 an hour ($1800/4 hours = $450). We wish them well ... others have provided good ratings, which was the reason we hired them in the first place. Maybe we just received service on a bad day ... we suppose that happens.

They picked up the sticks and leaves. They got a chipper, did a fantastic job, great price. He did some trimming. We had a pretty large oak tree in the front of the house that was blocking the view of the house, and they trimmed some trees in the back. I had got some previous estimates and he was below those guys. It was a real good job, a real good job. I would use them again. I referred them over to my neighbor and he's going to use them.

It went very well and communication was very clear throughout the process. We actually had more services performed because of the quality work of this company. Andrew was great to deal with! This will be our go-to company for future needs.

We’ve known Drew Howard since 2011. Our sons played football together in 8th grade and then all thru HS. He has an excellent business and has serviced our trees twice, in Feb 2013 & Dec 2015. And, will again this or next week, before our “crazy Texan spring-winter” goes full bloom! 22 Dec 2015 was even a same day call and removal of our large dying 30+yr old backyard Ash tree, due to huge branch abruptly breaking off and spanned across the yard landing and resting on the cyclone fence. We were so pleasantly surprised Drew jumped right to it, clearing it completely before the Christmas holidays. Drew’s work has always been super, thorough, and clean. He has his own “chipper” (like Schertz City’s) so his process is very efficient and immaculate. Nothing needs be dragged from one area to another, piled up, sitting for days or weeks distressing your nice front lawn waiting for curbside chipping. Rest assure you will not be “had” by Drew and his crew because he is “honest, affordable, and dependable,” just as his card states. I look forward to scheduling our front yard Ash tree’s semi-topping and two remaining backyard trees “sprucing up.” As a matter of fact, I’m going to call him right now. [Afterwards I won't wait another 4 years to pass before reviewing!!]

Price given in advance, pay when the work is complete. You are invited to inspect and approve the work. Crew works together for maximum efficiency, curtieous gentlemen who use temperate language. Clean-up was like the tree was never there with no stump and ready for a replacement tree. I have 16 large trees on my property, so I'm familiar with tree maintenance and prices. These guys are the best you will ever find.

Outstanding!  I called Drew for an estimate, told him what I was looking for over the phone and he came out took a look and left his estimate while I was at work.  He came out the very next day to start the work.  He and his team did an excellent job, very neat and clean.  Quick, reasonable and quality.  Will definitely call Doc's back for future tree or landscaping projects.

This is the second time we've used Doc's - he was great and did just what we asked.  He was on time to give us an estimate and when the work was scheduled to be done.  He cleaned everything up too.

Great job.  This was a major job.  I really didn't realize it until I saw the final result.  I could see my entire house, including the roof cover, for the first time in a long time.  I now remembered why I bought this house 9 years ago.  It looks great.  A very cool front elevation.  If I were trying to sell my home, they may have added value that day.  
Doc's Tree Service was fast and thorough.  Good job clean up.  Since they got to my house earlier than expected, I had to pay later.  I left a check under the doormat.  The company prefers check.
I really appreciate the job they did, and I expect to use them in the future.   

I will definitely hire him again because he personally climbed the trees and trimmed and shaped them superbly. I can't get enough of looking at my Chinese Pistachio tree from across the street--it's beautifully sculpted and simply gorgeous! I'm currently waiting on an estimate from Andrew to finish a couple of landscaping projects in my front yard. I'm looking forward to the end product.

I'm not sure if Andrew arrived exactly on time because I had to leave around the start time.  However, when I returned less than an hour later, he and his crew of two other men were almost done.  They cleaned up nicely and stacked the large branches I asked them to save neatly in piles.  The trees look great and  I will call Andrew again when needed.

We contacted this company at the beginning of August, 2013.  Drew came out and provided an estimate on Aug 4, 2013.  I do not know if the price included the discount for Angie's List as I was not present and my husband spoke with Drew.  We received 3 quotes and decided on Doc's Tree Service because he threw into the price the removal of the hackberry tree.  I contacted Drew around August 8, 2013 and set up an appointment to remove the trees on Wednesday, Sept 4, 2013.  This was the last time I spoke with him by telephone.  After that it was by email or text.  I contacted him again by text on Aug 20, 2013 to request a proposal and copy of the companies insurance.   I contacted him by text again with email address again on August 28, 2013 and that evening I received by email a proposal and insurance information. 
I contacted Drew again by text on Sept 3, 2013 because we had not been told what time the crew would arrive or what we needed to do.  He responded around 9am.  The crew arrived at 8:45am and got right to work.  They removed the live oak tree first.  It overhang our house and was completely rotted inside the base of the trunk due to a lightening strike years before.  They cut up and removed all the wood from it.  Next, they removed the hackberry, cut up and removed all the wood.  He even trimmed the branches of another hackberry at the rear of our yard.  They completed the tree removal by noon.  Around 5pm that same evening Drew returned with a large, wheeled stump grinder.  He ground down the stump of the hackberry first, then went to work on the live oak as it was considerably larger.  Partway through grinding, the machine stopped working.  He attempted to fix the machine but to no avail and said he would have to leave it and return the next day with new fuses to complete the work.  He returned the next morning, Sept 5, 2013.  It still would not work.  Drew came to the door said he would have to take it in and have it repaired and come back to complete the work.  He said his crew would be by that evening to pick it up.  We had paid half up front, the other half was due upon completion, so we agreed he would come back when the machine was repaired.  No one showed up until Sept 7, 2013 to pick up the broken equipment.  We wouldn't have known they were there except we happened to look out the front window and spotted the truck.  No one came to the door.  We never heard from them again by phone or text.  On Sept 25, 2013 we went out to the backyard and noticed the live oak stump was completely ground down.  We were out in our yard the night before, so we knew that someone had shown up at some time on the 25th and finished the stump grinding.  I was home all day and no one ever came to the door to announce they were there to finish or to ask for the rest of the payment.  I waited until Sept 27, 2013 and finally contact him by text to find out where to mail the check.  I never heard back.  On Monday, Sept 30, 2013 I emailed Doc's and Drew responded back with an address. Nothing else, no questions, no glad to do business with you, just an address.  I mailed the check out on October 1, 2013 and emailed him to let him know.  He responded with a thanks and that was that.

It's nice to know there are people who are still concerned with doing a quality job at a reasonable price.  This was a very large project, and Andrew was leader of an exceptional crew of workers.  Consistent, quick contact via phone and emails.  Followed-up with all questions quickly.  Arrived as promised on all work days and called with updates when they were en route.  Work was done in a professional manner with sense of aesthetics to enhance the appearance of our home.  Any concerns were addressed on the spot.  We will be calling on Doc's Tree and Landscape again.

He came and gave us an estimate. We agreed and we set up a date. They were punctual very courteos They trimmed the Oak tree in front first.
It open up the front of our house. We loved it.
Then tackled the trees that way to close to our roof. He got up on the roof so he could make sure the cut was it what we wanted. 
He cleared everything before leaving.
He was awesome will use him again when we need to have trees again.

Drew gave us a courtesy call before he arrived and was very punctual.  He has terrific equipment and his assistant was very thoughtful about leaving everything in perfect shape.  They are very professional!
