Cannot say enough about Champion Floors. We did our do diligence when we decided to replace our carpeting with hardwoods. Although Champion Floors was not the cheapest estimate we had, they were by far the best choice when you factor in the quality, professionalism (from initial contact to completion), competence and product. They were always on time, took care to prep everything thoroughly before and cleaned up after each day. Everyone we dealt (from the salesperson and owner to the installers) were courteous, knowledgeable, made sure we had no questions/issues and answering those that we did and always kept us informed as to the work being done. Overall great experience and couldn't be happier with the quality of the workmanship and final results. Would not hesitate to use Champion Floors again or recommend them to anyone looking to update the floors.

The job was to remove ceramic tile in the kitchen/dinning area, and carpet in the family room, hallways, and dinning room, and install PVC Plank flooring for about 1000 square feet. The carpet was removed for a small fee. The tile was broken up and disposed of at an additional cost/square foot (included in the total). The team minimized the spread of dust from breaking up the tiles by covering walls, counters, etc. with plastic. They prepared the former tiled area for the plank flooring installation. The team removed the small molding strip at the base of the wall and installed the floor. They installed and painted the new molding. The outstanding team cleaned up after the job daily. They were professional and courteous. The job took 5 days. We are very pleased with the process, outcome, and installation team. We would hire Champion Floors again.

Superb service!  Finished ahead of schedule, even though I added new baseboards into the job as they were installing the floor.  Great crew, professional, courteous, couldn't have been better!  The new floor is fantastic!

We went to the store location on FM 3009 to look at their carpet samples.  They had a good variety of different carpet styles/textures/brands.  They were happy to answer all of our questions and even let us check out samples of the carpets we liked for several days to take home. We looked at them in different rooms at different times of day to make sure which ones we wanted. We chose different colors of a Stainmaster carpet.  We had priced similar ones at several other places before we committed to Champion (prices offered were competitive).  Labor costs included were reasonable and the installers were extremely experienced and efficient.  One of the store managers came out to the house to measure and draw an exact diagram of each room and closet. Then we were given a detailed bid/invoice listing all of the foam and carpeting by square feet, price, installation, and tax.The three-man crew was scheduled to come first thing in the morning. They arrived promptly, dressed professionally, and acted politely.  The supervisor on the team went over what they were going to do step-by-step and asked if I had any questions.  I was told they could take the old foam/carpets with them or I could keep them. I elected to keep them and sell them later as they were brand new.  They told me in that case they could remove them a little more carefully so that they were intact for resale.  They rolled them up carefully and stacked them in my garage where I wanted them. We were very pleased with their performance and they cleaned everything up afterwards.  I would highly recommend them to anyone. We love our carpets and have received several compliments on how soft and springy they feel. We didn't realize that a few pounds difference in the foam padding would have such a tremendous impact on the overall comfort of our feet!

We tried the big box stores but discovered that their product was not as advertised and after searching found Champion Flooring. We discussed with Kurt our adventures and he directed us toward a product similar but higher quality for a better price. We then saw a really nice vinyl floor that goes in like tile from Armstrong with color pallet that would match the décor on the bathrooms so we added this to the order also. Our house is not too old but the previous owner did not take care of the floors with cuts and rips on the vinyl and stains on the carpet so we got to work and had it all changed. Kurt was great in helping us out and we got a better deal if we could wait till he had a large order so we did. We learned from experience that what looks good in the store may not fit your house so he gave us a large sample to take home and it looked good in the house with our lighting as well. So we got the order in and waited. The order got in and we started work on 21 July and finished on 23 July, it was a rather large project. The workers normally showed up around 10 am and would work till 7 pm. We removed all the vanities in the bathrooms so the flooring would go all the way to the wall for when and if we decide to change out the vanities, I suggest this to anyone else redoing a bathroom with plans later it will save you time and money. After each bathroom was finished we would install the vanities and plumbing ourselves. It seemed like days turned to weeks as we waited for the finished project jumping from room to room while they worked so prepare yourself if you tackle a lot of rooms as we did. The finished product looks amazing with a nice flow from the front door through the living room, dining room and kitchen with any transition strips. The first floor bath does not even have a transition strip since is was level another plus. The addition of the cement board in the 2nd floor bathrooms took out the squeaks in the floor and has a nice finish. I would recommend that if you have this kind of project get some plastic sheets to cover your furniture since it will get very dusty and close all doors to other rooms not being worked in to get the dust out. All in all it was an experience and we are happy it is over, the floors look great and we are satisfied with the end results.

COST:  Before the purchase there were a couple of issues concerning the estimate, although I did not see this as a deal-breaker.  Both estimates came in notably higher than I figured based on my area measurements and the cost of the products I had chosen.  The estimator told me the labor cost for the vinyl was $2.50 per sq ft, wheareas the salesperson in the store had quoted me $2.00.  Not sure why they were not on the same page.  I went ahead and agreed to the additional charge.  The estimated square footage (and subsequent cost) for the carpeting was much higher than my measurements.  The estimator told me that was because two full sections or rolls had to be ordered for the room.  Because the labor is included in the sq ft pricing for carpeting, I asked why I had to pay the labor for the extra carpeting that wouldn't be installed (left over).  He adjusted the price accordingly, and stated the section to be re-stretched would be no additional charge.  When I received the left over carpeting after the install, it was only a few square ft, much less than what there should have been (minus a few scraps) based on the amount he stated that had to be ordered (and I paid for).
CARPET INSTALL:  The carpeting looked great installed, although I had to push it down along the wall in a couple of places where they missed.  I was a bit annoyed by the amount of dust and carpet fibers covering the baseboards and low window sills, which I cleaned.  They vacuum the carpeting after installing, why not the baseboards?  Also, I overheard from an adjacent room the work leader asking his workers about dents in a door, which they denied.  Nothing was said to me and I didn't see anything when inspecting with the work leader after the install.  Upon closer examination after they left, I closed one of the doors, which was open during the inspection, and noticed two small dents near the bottom of one of the closet doors along with a carpet fiber and dust.  It appears it was struck by a tool, perhaps when ripping up the old carpeting or tack strip.
VINYL INSTALL:  Had to wait almost 2 months for the vinyl install because of the delay in the ordering process.  According to them, this wait is relatively common for vinyl.  The vinyl looked great after installation, and the quarter-round, which backs up against the existing baseboard, was appropriately cut in the corners.
However, upon closer inspection after the installers left,  I noticed the caulking of the gap between the quarter-round and the baseboard was done sloppily.  Not enough was used to fill the gap in some places, and in a couple of places, there was a 2 to 3 inch gap without any caulk.  In some other places caulk was smeared on the quarter-round itself, particularly in the closet, where it would be less noticeable I guess.  I went ahead and re-caulked and cleaned off the residue.  Furthermore, I wiped off vinyl glue residue in a few places off the floor itself.  These issues annoyed me, particularly since I actually saved the crew time and effort by telling them they didn't have to paint the quarter-round (I would do it later), and by moving the furniture in and out of the room myself (the painting and moving are included in the installation price).   Also, none of the hinge pins on the 3 doors that were removed were replaced properly.  They were all sticking out above the hinges.  One was sticking out above the hinge more than 2 inches.  I got them all back in place without much trouble, basically just some tapping.   Another thing was leaving the front door open for extended periods while the AC was on.  Some workers closed the door behind them, but at least one kept leaving it wide open, so I closed it when I realized there was no purpose for it being open, other than convenience I guess.  Finally, some companies lay down a runner to protect floors they are  going back and forth on.  This is would be a simple recommendation.  I happily provided a dust pan and rags as they requested and let them know where the restroom was if needed, and otherwise let them do their thing without hanging over them.  They were courteous enough, but I think there is room for improvement concerning service.

OUTSTANDING!!. Champion assisted with the selection (allowed us to take a couple of 2' X 2' sample squares home for the weekend and return them later.  They measured provided estimate promptly and were out for carpet removal, floor prep, and h/w installation within a couple of weeks (our selection of date due to other work we had going on - we wanted floors done last). Their two installers were awesome, in addition to the the floors, the installation included putting down a "sealant / "leveler" coat on the foundation to ensure a level base for the hardwoods, and the "quarter-rounds" trim between the flooring and the baseboards of each of the rooms.
I put a "B" for price only because there were less expensive alternatives, BUT. . . this is clearly an example of "you get what you
pay for". Incredible quality, unbeatable work efforts, value results!

After another flooring company failed to show up on the day I had an appointment I called Champion Floors.  I had to wait a few weeks because they were busy but I found out why they were busy.  They were prompt and did a fabulous job on the tile.  The gentleman who installed it worked nonstop and did a great job.  I cannot express how happy I was with this company and the quality of work that they did.

Champion flooring was VERY professional and worked hard to make sure we got what we wanted.  Nick worked with us to pick out the carpet and make sure it was affordable and met our desires.  Champion did everything according to their estimate, no questions asked.  I would recommend them anytime on any job.

Pros: They installed hardwood floors in the family room, game room, master bedroom, stairs, and hallway; built a bench around fireplace and added travertine tile around the fireplace. |Love the finished product |The crew was very professional |They did a great job moving and wrapping my furniture. When they finished they cleaned up and put everything back in place. |Cons: all the carpet was removed from the stairs before they had all the materials needed to complete the stairs.  We were told that the pieces needed to complete the stairs were on back order. We had to live with and look at exposed plywood for about 1 week. Once all the pieces were in they came out and completed the job right away. |The crew used the front lawn to cut and prep the flooring materials but poured a chemical on the grass and killed a large section of my lawn. | |We paid the price that we were quoted. |Love love the finished product

We found Champion through Angie's List and took a ride out to the store on 3009.  We dealt with the owner, Kurt, that day, and he was extremely helpful and accommodating. We took samples home to view in our own light, etc. Then we were told there was a 2 month wait for installation. Well, we needed to have it done much sooner-- Kurt talked to his scheduler and to his installers, and they managed to squeeze our smaller project into their schedule the very next week!

The quality of the wood was great, all of the in-store staff were courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable, and the installers were equally wonderful.  The installers removed our carpet, prepped the floors and installed the wood, painted the trim, put all our furniture back and even put pads underneath all the furniture as not to scratch the floors.  They did accidentally do some damage to our walls (I don't know how, I didn't see it) but they were extremely apologetic and offered to fix it, but it was so minor - and they were so sorry- that I just fixed it myself with a few dabs of paint.

The floors look great and I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat!

These guys were the best.  The returned calls, they were on time for not only measuring but to install the tile.  I had to wait a couple of weeks but that is what happens when companies are good.  The young man who installed my tile was quite the professional and really knew what he was doing.  I am so pleased as it looks great.  The company I originally called to do the work, did not return calls when they said they would and then the day they were to install the tile, they just did not show up.  The only thing they did to correctly was refund my money.  If you are looking for flooring or tile work, call Champion floors. They are great.
