Zimmermann Air Conditioning & Heating

We had two new a/c heating systems installed. Technicians were excellent. Dealing with the office/administration was unsatisfactory. I purchased their best, most expensive Platinum maintenance plan at $468. The plan included: "(12) Free 1" Pleated Filters/Year/System." Even after several requests, they never supplied any filters. Wouldn't return messages.

I have a story about Zimmerman AC Company. I had a leak in my Ceiling. They advised me to replace my entire AC system in order to fix it. I paid 10,000 dollars got a complete new system asked them multiple times if this would fix the leak they promised me it would. I also asked them the day they came and replaced it. Again they promised that it would fix it. Fast forward 3 days later the leak isn’t fixed. Zimmerman sent about person out and then told us ohh no the new AC unit would never fix your leak. We got completely used by them and now they are not doing anything to fix the mistake they made. Our other AC unit was working perfectly fine but they took advantage of us because we needed the leak to stop. I have asked them multiple times to at least pay for our insurance deductible, because we have thousands of dollars in water damage because the ceiling kept leaking. They lied to use and took advantage of us. We just want help with the money we have lost because of them taking advantage of us.

My AC stopped working and I needed it fixed after-hours. After finding Zimmermann and seeing all the great reviews, I decided to give them a call. The technician, Trey, arrived asap, was extremely professional, and thoroughly worked up the AC problems and presented them step-by-step, as well as presented all the different options for treating the problem. Everything was crystal clear with no surprises. I could not be happier with this company!

I can’t say enough good things about this company and their employees. Specifically James and Taylor, who installed the system and duct work. They are polite, respectful, punctual and professional. No question, is a silly question. They gave me back my home the way they found it plus a stellar HVAC! I highly recommend their services. Their prices were the lowest as well. It was money well spent.

John arrived on time, diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly. It ended up being a simple fix (I had assumed it would have been a much larger issue). The point is - you can trust Zimmermann employees. They will always give you an honest answer, and they always do an awesome job with the fix. I've been using Zimmermann for my AC needs since we moved to San Antonio many years ago and I have never been disappointed! It's just nice to know there are still contractors out there that you can completely trust.

Zimmermann Services is the only company we would ever use for our residential heating and air conditioner needs! We've lived in our house for 5 years and had problems with the a/c since day 1. Being new to the area, we tried 2 other "reputable" companies first, had horrible experiences with both of them, and then found Zimmermann. Terry and Luke are amazing, extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Overall though, all their techs are so very professional, we never had a need to request the same person, because we felt confident that no matter who they sent out, we would be in good hands. They found issues on their very first visit, but again, being that we were new to the area and looking for jobs, we were not in a position to have them complete the repairs the units needed. No problem with Zimmermann. They helped come up with efficient and cost effective ways to band aid us and keep us cool at as low a cost as possible. As I mentioned, we had already had two other companies out, so we had a good idea what was wrong and had been quoted outrageous prices already. Zimmermann did a professional, honest job when we needed someone we could trust. Well, just last week, the unit finally died, I mean completely died, no more band aids or repairs to limp along; we simply had to replace it or go without A/C. In less than 24 hours, Terry had a team of guys at the house replacing the unit. They were AWESOME! So courteous and professional with everything, very careful in our space and even with our pets. This past weekend was literally the first time in 5 years where our A/C units actually went OFF because they finally met the temp we had the thermostats set at! Up until we got the new unit, they just ran nonstop because they could never satisfy the temp we wanted things to be at inside. I can't imagine how much money we could have saved with CPS over these past 5 years, if we'd had units that were this efficient and working well. We had no idea it would make such a difference. This new unit also provides cooling for our child's room and for the first time, the air has sustained an even, comfortable temperature in that area too. So nice to have this peace of mind! We'll never use anyone except Zimmermann!!

The rep was very professional and punctual. I decided to go with another company because I believe that their competitor's equipment was a better brand and the competitor's pricing was about 40% less overall.

After he left I realized it wasn't cooling. He had accidentally crossed a couple of wires, but when I called back, they immediately scheduled a return visit at no charge. It was a little inconvenient for them to have to come back, but I didn't mind because the tech was polite, courteous, professional. And despite the mistake which had occurred, I had the feeling that the tech was over all very technically competent. Over all it was a good experience at a fair price. I would definitely use them again.

It went great. Zimmermann AC and heating is a very honest and professional company. Jared and Terry came out to check to see what was wrong with the AC. They spent at least two hours checking and testing thoroughly my AC unit measured the house, went up in the attic, outside, in the closet to check vents. At the end of the visit they developed a list of things that could be wrong. We talked about options to repair the AC or replace it. After much thought, I decided to replace the AC unit since it was over 15 years old. I told them what AC ideas I preferred and the next day Luke Zimmerman sent me a number of options with prices to look over. He got right back to me via email when I had questions. I cannot say enough about their team. I felt they were honest the whole way. I would recommend them to anyone with AC issues. They are very professional and will not mislead you. The $35.00 coupon from Angie's list was perfect.

The technician did a great job. He figured out that some of the electronics were burned out, so the thermostat was not communicating with the condenser. It was fixed within a few hours of calling the company.

The process was very painless. Our A.C. went out Sunday morning. I spent the day looking for a good company, and I after reading the reviews, I decided on Zimmermann. I talked to Luke at 8 am. He informed me that they had someone available between 10 and 12. I went ahead and scheduled it. I was not going to be home, but my in-laws had been staying with us, so having the A.C. fixed was important. Before 9:30, James had called to tell me the problem and the cost. It was much less than I had thought it was going to be. I told him to go ahead and do the job. Before 10 a.m., my mother-in-law called me to tell me the A.C. was blowing cold again. The process was simple and I felt like I wasn't being taken advantage of. I will definitely use Zimmermann again...especially since our system is ancient and will need much more work in the future.

The first person who came out saw that we had two interconnected units and cleared one unit. The water then backed up into the other unit. They were kind enough to send a second person out who recommended a valve be installed. We paid for the valve and it has not stopped up since.

Luke from Zimmermann Air Conditioning and Heating came out and replaced my Carrier A/C unit's TXV valve. They did a thorough job and communicated well with me. They were punctual, professional and HONEST (which is missing in this field sometimes). He gave me a price of $550--a little more than the initial agreed upon $450-500--for the Carrier TXV valve and for the labor. Considering how hard he worked and his attitude I felt it was a fair price and I was happy to pay. I got an estimate from Rosenberg Indoor Comfort to do the same work and they wanted to charge me 1300 dollars and called it a good deal! Zimmermann also charged 25 by the pound for R410a coolant while Rosenberg Indoor Comfort charges 75 for the first pound and 55 for the second pound. I didn't think those were fair prices. I would highly recommend Zimmermann Air Conditioning & Heating.

The technician showed up on time, but had no idea that I had paid for a 20 point inspection. He tried to add some refrigerent, went into the attic to check out the central blower, but did little else. The entire inspection was not done. I was told that the coils in the central system were rusty and needed to be replaced for $1500-$2000. The alternative was to take them out and clean them, which would take 4 hours.

I inspected the coils on both the central blower and the heat pump itself. There was no rust! I cleaned them all myself for about $12. Completely crooked, out to make money. I think they must have a commission system for their technicians. I would never call them again, and hope to save anyone else from being duped.

Incredibly responsive. Called in the evening and a technician was out at the property the following afternoon. I wanted a second opinion so I sent Zimmerman out for an additional assessment of the A/C unit which was not blowing cold air. Previous tech said it was just dirty coils and wanted $700. Zimmerman's tech discovered it was 2lbs low on freeon and needed only a minor cleaning. Unit is running well now.

Since this is a rented property, I can't get eyes on like these guys can and I appreciated the honest assessment. Didn't get the feeling they're the type of company that exploits its customers.
