Before I took the 2006 Ford Taurus in, which wouldn't go into gear (forward or reverse), they provided good information about things that could be causing the problem. I took it into them on the afternoon of Tues 2/27/2015 and got it back on Fri 2/30/2015. Labor was about $713.

Word of mouth is how we have been in operation since 1987! I must apologize for the slight delay in completing the repair. As I recall, I had a family emergency while completing your vehicle. I do hope that the rental car that was provided helped alleviate any hardship this delay may have produced. My 2004 Chevy Tahoe was overheating and I suspected that it needed a new water pump. I called multiple repair shops and got quotes in the $400 to $650 range for the work. I hadn't expected to pay that much and decided to give Vern's a call to see what they would quote.
I had used Vern's religiously in the past because they were right across the street from where I worked, but they are no longer convenient to where I work or live, but I know they are honest and do great work. When I called, Vern answered and I told him what was going on and he agreed that it sounded like a water pump issue and gave me an estimate of $305 to replace it.
I had the vehicle towed to his shop that evening, scheduling the work for the next day. The next morning he confirmed that it was the water pump that was out and said that he would have the work completed that day. When I picked up the vehicle, I was charged exactly what I was quoted even though he had also replaced the fan belt.
This experience was like all of the others that I have had with Vern's. I paid what I expected, or less, and got the vehicle when it was promised. To say that I am pleased with the price and service I received would be an understatement!
I would highly recommend Vern's to anyone needing a car repair.

They were awesome from beginning to end. They took me without an appointment the day I called. Because they thought it might take a while, they offered to drive me home. They called me about two hours later with the diagnosis of the problem and an estimate. When they finished the repair, they came back to my house to pick me up. At the time of check out, the mechanic explained what they had done and told me that one other part was orignially indicated by the testers but he believed it to be residual of the other problem so he did not just haphazardly replace the other part but let me know to come back if the engine light comes back on.
