Tonys Upholstery Center and more

I met Tony elsewhere and really liked him and, after reading reviews here, decided to have him do the work. He promised the work, at a great price, in 4 to 6 weeks. It was over 9 weeks. At 4 weeks I called and asked if they were ready. Almost. At 6 weeks, evasive answer. At 8 weeks, and quot;I'll deliver them today or tomorrowand quot;. Two days later the same answer. 4 days later the same. Each day I left work and rushed home to meet him and he didn't show or call. Finally, after leaving a message that I was very upset, he delivered the next day.
The work quality is very poor. These were fine Italian barrel chairs. Now they are cheap imitations. The seams are puckered. The cushions are distorted. Where the previous fabric floated over the frame, not touching at all on the sides, it now has numerous ridges where each piece of the frame is. Previously the bottom of the chair, which is an obvious part of the design and highly visible from the front , was in the same upholstery fabric. Now it is in white burlap and not even well done with folds of fabric sticking out on the front. The little metal discs on the bottom, a type of and quot;feetand quot;, were not visible previously. Now the shiny silver is right on the edge for all to see. The fabric is soiled in places.
Tony offered me a discount for the poor work. I declined because I am sure he must have all but lost money on the job. As I said I like him. Tony offered to remake one of the cushions. I declined because it took him so long to do the chairs I was afraid I would never see the cushion again.
I am now saving money to have the re-upholstery re-done by someone who will do the job the way it should be done. I'm glad I have photos of the original upholstery because you really can't tell what it should look like from the current upholstery.

He did a wonderful job and I was very pleased.

Better than what i hoped for because he added the cushioning and gave me a discount.
