Timeless Sunsets Decks & Patios

We signed a contract on 3 May 2025 for concrete extension of the driveway, the back patio; construction of a screened in porch and building an arbor over the back patio extension. The sales person was so good that we did not get any additional estimates (our mistake). He promised us excellent communication, excellent work, 5-year warranty. At the time the contract was signed the owner was out of the state as was the construction manager. Doug and Craig were always nice when they did communicate. The first part of the construction contract was for the driveway and back patio concrete extension. The person that did the concrete work ended up cutting our main water line and also destroying 2/3rds of the lines for our sprinkler system. He repaired the main water line. I watched the repair job and was very concerned as one end of the repair only overlapped about 1/8th inch with the main water line. I am concerned that over time it will not hold. In addition, the concrete contractor pulled the junction box for the main water line for the city out of the ground and when the concrete was poured the concrete hardened inside and under the box. We had to pay a sprinkler company $2900 for 2 days of work to replace the broken sprinkler lines, replace the sprinkler heads which the concrete contractor threw away and chisel the concrete out of the water main junction box and rebury it. In addition, the concrete contractor caused damage to our privacy fence gate entry with his Bobcat and tore up large parts of our yard. Timeless Sunsets did a partial repair job on the privacy fence and partially filled in the foot deep tire ruts with dirt. I had to purchase 10 bags of top soil, 8 bags of sand and grass seed to repair the damage to the yard. The sales person had also mismeasured the amount of concrete needed and charged us an additional $600 above what was in the signed contract. As far as the excellent communication I have seen the construction manager twice and the sales manager 3 times over a month and 10 days since the contract was signed. I was told our $24,000 job was a small job and they had to spend their time on their big jobs. Communication has been mainly by text msg which I have to initiate. The construction manager asked us not to include the sales person in any communications which I did not do as the sales person was the one who wrote the contracts and told us which services would be included. I have received 1 text msg which I did not initiate. The construction manager never contacted us, or visited the entire time the concrete construction was being completed and no one offered to pay for any of the damage to the sprinkler system or have the main waterline professionally repaired. The screened in porch and the arbor were completed rapidly, in a few days. The door initially was not hung properly on the screened in porch and would not open all the way. The contractor had to return to rehang the door which left about a 3/4-inch space under the door which would allow insects to enter. I asked aren't you going to add a threshold? He said I am tired of driving back and forth if you want a threshold you will have to go and buy one right now and he would install. I drove round trip about 40 minutes of driving time to Home Depot and purchased a threshold with the help of an associate. When I returned the contractor said it won't work and made one out of a 2 x 4. We have had some rain and the B board on the inside of the screened in porch is already warping. The construction manager and sales person came out and for the first time I was told that I would have to buy the stain and paint because that is their policy. This was 1 month after the contract was signed and I was told they would pay for the stain and paint and the sales person also wrote on the contract "Stain is included for the arbor" and "Paint for the exterior only" which referenced the screen in porch and I would paint the inside. They said the reason they don't buy the stain and paint is it causes too many problems if it doesn't match. I responded what if I buy the stain and paint and you reduce the amount remaining on the contract for that cost and they said no. The owner refused to uphold what was written in the contract and at that point we said we would find someone else to complete the job (June 16,2025) since they would not uphold their contract and because of all the damage which had been done. New contractor did an excellent job of painting, staining, building a handrail and stairs and I had to pay an additional $2800. We have remained civil and courteous throughout this process. The company does not uphold what their sales person says and writes in the contract. The construction manager does not inspect the subcontractors work to make sure it is done properly. They do not pay for damage that is done to the property and any damage they might attempt to correct does not return to the original quality. Communication is poor with the customers and between their contractors, managers and sales personnel. The completed work is average, nothing special and not as good as expected from the sales spiel and is the only reason I gave them 2 stars instead of 1. I cannot recommend this company and would not use them again.

Great experience, this company met all expectations. Good communication with the front office and team on the job. Finished my job early and on budget. I will use them again.

George is the best! He drew out the plans for a Trex patio deck just the way I asked. Damaso and his crew were careful and professional. They completed the job and it looks great. Then, I needed them to come back to remove a railing panel to allow a hot tub/spa to be delivered. They returned it to its original beautiful state after delivery. I highly recommend Timeless Sunsets for any deck project.

The team of Charles and Monroe who did the framing and the deck were pure professionals. Over 40 years of foundation work and it showed. They worked everyday through the Texas summer heat. The deck is beautiful and looks better than originally designed. As the project started they say small flaws in my vision and gave me their opinions and it payed off big time. Seriously give John and his team a big consideration when choosing a deck.

First, let me say that the deck is beautiful. The man who built it was knowledgeable and hard working. The women who came to apply the sealer were great. We were given nice discounts for being a teacher. All of those are the pluses to our experience and pushed our rating to C. Our problem with the experience was the length of time it took, poor communication from the company about deliveries, work schedules and the fact that only ONE man worked on our deck the entire time (which affected the length of time to build). Timeline and completion plan were big concerns of ours from the estimation process. We told each company we got estimates from that we wanted the time between taking the deck off of our house to completion to be tight and minimal. We were told that this was possible. On our estimate from Timeless Sunsets, we were told 7 days. It took 3 weeks! If the company had been transparent (tell us lumber was hard to get, tell us you are having ONE man do this entire job, etc.), we could have either prepared or chosen someone else. I have texts from the owner telling us when lumber would arrive on a Monday (we thought he had an ETA from the lumber company). The installer took the deck off of the house on that Monday, so we could no longer exit the back door to the yard (it’s 4 feet off of the ground). The lumber did not arrive until Thursday afternoon and then the company told us they would begin the rebuild after the weekend. That’s one full week with no back door. Again, we said from the beginning that timing was important to us.

Robert was very responsive and easy to work with. The work was done as planned, the workers spoke English well and were communicative about the status of the job. They used quality materials and workmanship is better than the original deck stairs they removed.

They will always do what's best for the customer. We appreciate them getting the project done quickly, but yet ensured all the details in making our deck look fantastic. We are going to have so many memories on this deck, we appreciate the 110% they gave on our project.

project went well. extra care was giving to the selection of the decorative wood. the finish work was great. very proud of our new deck.

No footers were dug under the main pergola 4x6 posts. The entire structure rests on a single 2x6, which has now collapsed. I called George, but was brushed off as if it were not his problem. BEWARE!!!

Scott at Timeless Sunsets was very professional, courteous, knowledgeable and informative during estimate of our deck. The estimated timeframe they gave to start and complete our deck project was right on. We did request a small addition primarily for safety, which did take them almost two months later to come back out and complete; the two months was not such a big deal, as everything else was great. John handled the crew, headed by Jorge who did an outstanding job in the building of our deck. They kept us informed in the whole process. The workmanship and quality they put in to it was very evident. Lastly, the quoted price never changed, not to mention it was quite reasonable to begin with. I highly recommend Timeless Sunsets for your deck needs, as for all the previous listed reasons.

First and foremost, this company builds an Amazing product and we couldn’t be happier w/the outcome!! The concept, design (Scott), w/initial visit and execution (Mike) were beyond reproach. This honeymoon followed a small “hiccup” by their first sales representative (Joey) and a few small issues which followed. This company is going through a transitional phase which caused some growing pains and with those, missed customer service/satisfaction opportunities. However, I wouldn't let that dissuade you from hiring them as I stated, their leaning and growing curve should make them better in the future and without question, their end product is Outstanding!!!

Stay away from this company. They started the project months ago and never finished, and now they have stopped responding completely. DO NOT hire if you want the job finished. I am having to find someone else unfortunately.

This business is a definite A plus! Our deck project was a large, multi-level deck with over 700 square feet with several terrain challenges. The design and construction team overcame each challenge and built us a deck that will last for a lifetime in just two weeks! The whole process was great from beginning to end. The builders worked tirelessly in the August heat to give us a deck that we are extremely proud of and it has changed the character of our lake house for the better. The price that Timeless Sunsets gave us was the best of the companies from which we solicited bids and was exactly what was charged at the end of the job. This deck is absolutely top notch quality! If you have a deck to build, hire these folks. You won't be sorry!

The whole project, from start to finish, was a great experience! Mr. Antuna showed great enthusiasm and had many ideas when he first met us which was reflected in the design of the remodel. We were very pleased with the plans he designed. This enthusiasm was carried through all areas of the project. They started demo while we were out of the continental U.S. and kept us informed of progress and sent pictures. All the carpenters and the hired electrician were professional, courteous, and cleaned up every day at the end of the day. Jorge was a workhorse! He showed up early, took a short break (on-site) for lunch, and worked until dark every day they could, working around the unusually wet weather we had. The project took a little longer through no fault of their own due to weather issues and the deck railing manufacturer shipping damaged railing (which they refused to install or try to fix on site.) Our total satisfaction in every step of the project always seemed to be the end goal. I am looking forward to hiring them again for the next phase - the outdoor kitchen!

Very pleased with the outcome! New gable looks great! The crew is very talented in their woodworking ability. I showed them a photo of window trim I found on Pinterest and they recreated beautifully on first try. Would hire this company again. Very fair pricing.

Work was done on the schedule agreed upon, for the price agreed upon. No hidden costs. George was easy to work with and his crew were excellent workers. I'm very pleased with the results.

Absolutely the BEST! Scott was wonderful in his design, taking care of HOA paperwork and explaining everything. He even returned when I added a swim spa and needed additional work. Jorge and his crew were outstanding! Very professional and hardworking. Jorge was patient with me when we had a misunderstanding regarding the design. He touched base with me at every step towards completion. George has a fantastic company and employees. Have had many compliments on the deck.

Angie's list sent me recommendations on three contractors. After reading the reviews on line, I knew who I wanted for our project. We initially met with Scott and the first thing I asked was for him to explain the unfavorable evaluations the company had received back in 2014. He was honest and straight with me when he said that they had some problems back in 2014. He said the problems have been fixed, which I could see by the favorable reviews for the last 3 1/2 years. We then met with George who took measurements and made a few changes to the original plans. I work evenings and told George that my wife could answer any questions and or problems that could come about and he had no problem with that. I would come home each night after work and to be honest, I was "wowed" by what I saw each night. The first night was the framing of two decks. The second night the flooring was in place and the two decks looked awesome. The third night the roof was in place and it was actually higher than we expected. The fourth night the room was screened in on two sides, the railing had been installed on the open deck and a step had been added. The workers returned on Saturday to finish the screening of the last side and added the aluminum door to the outside deck. I only was able to see the workers for any length of time on Saturday, and I was impressed with their attention to detail. Unfortunately, I do not speak Spanish and would have loved them to know what a fantastic job they had done. My wife and I had an idea of what we wanted, but George took that idea and made it better. My wife is retired and she loves spending her days in her new screened in room. She says, I have only been waiting 20 years for this. Me, I have a place to barbecue and can watch my ESPN. Even the cats have enjoyed going out to the screened in room. Yes, I would highly recommend Timeless Sunsets Decks & patios.
