Perfectly. Service was performed the day I called. Plumber (Edward) phoned as promised when he was on his way. Estimate / price was fair. Quality work.

The entire process was very frustrating.  I was not at all happy with the high estimate- without even looking at anything.  I was also quite disturbed that they were not willing or able to tell me what exactly it was that they were going to do for $514.  They made me feel as though I was annoying and frustrating them and wasting their time.  Not one smile was shown the entire time that they were here.  They made me feel like I was a simple-minded person who had no idea what was going on.  When I told them that I was given a different price over the phone, I was immediately faced with hostility and more frustration.  I felt as though they were calling me a liar.  Barry stated that he was the person on the other end of the phone line and "I would NEVER give a quote over the phone!" He said that he was not going to sit here and argue with me anymore.  Nonetheless, he continued to argue with me and kept insisting that I was mixing them up with another company.  Neither one of them showed any professionalism, courtesy or basic respect for me- the customer.  After speaking to my husband over the phone, he agreed that this was just a ridiculous situation.  I asked them to leave, but not before having to pay $49 for 4 minutes of ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!  I felt and still feel cheated, robbed, and duped by this company. They didn't even give me a receipt or invoice after I paid them.  I would NEVER, NEVER, EVER recommend Tietze Plumbing nor would I  EVER use them for any plumbing needs.

Service person was courteous and respectful.  But the rates were just obscene!
Response from Tietze Plumbing

"Tietze Plumbing has a $49 service charge to send a technician to the residence. The technician diagnoses the plumbing issue and then a Flat Rate, upfront cost is given to the customer for approval to complete the job. This pricing system is an average cost for labor and materials. If the technician takes longer than average, it is not an extra expense to the customer."

It was some cold/wet weather and they were out there digging. Edward and the others have been patient, professional, and really have done a lot of work for us. They have gone above and beyond.
Response from Tietze Plumbing

"Thank you for you comment. Our goal is to always professionally diagnose the plumbing issue and resolve the problem. We appreciate you business."

This company does very poor work. Everything was done half way and required rework.
AND they charge you again to fix their mistakes.

It’s a very good plumbing company here in San Antonio. It is family owned and operated. They are very honest and professional. The number one thing for me about plumbers is being honest since I don’t know anything about plumbing. It would be very easy for someone to come out and tell me to get something unnecessary done, but they don’t do that. They show up on time. Their prices are very reasonable. They had to stop installing the sink because we had to get some people out to cut the granite around the sink. They are very good. They don’t come out with a sales pitch and they don’t try to sell you more than what you call them for. I would definitely use their services in the future too. In fact, they are coming on Saturday once the granite guy finishes his work.

When I first spoke with this company I explained what I wanted done (see above) and I asked how much they charged. I was told they charged $95.00/hour. I asked if I needed to supply the parts needed and I was told no, that they would have the parts with them when they came. Two guys showed up. It appeared one was a "trainee". When they arrived, the guy in charge determined they DID NOT have the parts they needed and would have to go to the hardware store. I was concerned about how that time would factor into my cost. They told me they would not charge for the time they spent picking up the parts. The guy "in charge" left to buy the parts. He was probably gone 30-45 minutes. They were at my home under 2 hours and that included the trip to the hardware store. They presented me with a billy for almost $500.00! I was shocked and told them that I had been told I would be charged $95 an hour. The actual parts used were under $35.00. At that point they informed me that "some" jobs charged "by the job" and not charged by the time spent. I told them they should have explained that when I asked about the cost as they knew exactly what I needed done. The "guy in charge" proceeded to explain to me how I was paying for his expertise.... They also used a plastic tubing to redirect the shower head without telling me even though our entire home was re-plumbed several years ago during a remodel with copper tubing. The shower was plumbed with copper tubing. I assumed they would use the same material. I talked with a woman at their place of business over the telephone and finally got them to agree to $341.00; however, I was very unhappy with them and the work they performed. I do not trust them and would NEVER use them again and would NEVER refer them to any one else. They were dishonest. My bill should have been $95.00 times the amount of time they spent plus the cost of the parts they used. Although I did not get them from you site, it was because of this bad experience that I decided to join Angie's list. Quite frankly, I am surprised that they are listed in your "A" list for plumbers and am wondering if I can rely on other references. The only thing positive I can say about these people is that they agreed to come out the next morning after they were contacted.
