The Ridge at Canyon Springs (Gehan Homes)

We have had our Gehan home for approximately 1 year now. Our 1 year warranty was coming due and as we inspected the house, we found only four items we believed needed warranty work. The four items were all very minor: 1 - a 3 foot crack in the garage floor which appeared to be a serface crack (which once checked was confirmed to be a minor crack of little or no significance); 2 - a few areas where the brick was missing bits of concrete in between the bricks (these were fixed within one day); 3 - water pressure in the kitchen sink was extremely low (This was fixed immediately); 4 - where two pieces of the granite countertop meet, one edge was slightly higher than the other (Being fixed).
It should be noted that we have done a thorough inspection of the house and have found no other issues. This is one of the best build houses I have ever owned. No cracks, separation in joints, or other commone issues have been noted, which we found to be due to the quality of construction being at a high standard. Our home is 3354 Sq Ft, two story with a 2 1/2 garage, and we have experienced absolutely no significant issues. I couldn't be happier. Thanks to the constant contact with our Gehan Home rep (Beverly Kostinick) we have had an absolutely satisfying experience with Gehan Homes. I highly recommend to anyone who plans to build or buy and existing home, look at the Gehan homes first. Gehan homes are Quality at its finest.

We love our house. The builder from The Ridge at Canyon Springs (Gehan Homes) didn't do as smoothly as he would have like for it because he changed foreman 3 different times during the build. Ever since he moved in to the house, they changed again. So warranty work is kind of difficult to get done. Since we built our house, they've actually downgraded in what they give you a standard. So we talked our friend into purchasing a house and we found out that they don't get near as anything standard as we got. The expectations I guess have diminished quite a bit.

Overall the purchase of our new home has been one of ups and downs. Getting utilities, cable, internet, etc., has been a significant challenge as some of them installed the wrong items and then wanted to charge 100 dollars more to come and make it right... in the long run and after a great deal of discussion, they all came and installed the correct items without additional charge. The bottom line on the home completion would be it has exceeded our expectations. During the walkthru's of the home before closing a number of items were discoved that the subcontractors had not completed, didn't install according to Texas codes, etc. Scott Stevens, Gehan Home representative, who was managing the repairs, etc., did an excellent job. Once he was notified or discovered the issues he would have them repaired or completed within 5 to 7 days. At the time of closing only three issues remained unsolved, two having to do with the brick work, which the rain had prevented from being accomplished and a third was the kitchen island where the subcontractor had installed damaged wood paneling on two sides. The repairs to the brick work on the home were completed within two weeks after closing... I'm still waiting for the kitchen island to be repaired but Scott has assured me it will be taken care of in the new two weeks or so. Since this is merely cosmetic I'm not overly concerned that it be completed today. All in all Scott and Gehan homes have done a wonderful job in getting our new home completed and all issues identified fixed in a most timely manner. The Gehan home we have purchased is spectacular and meets all our highest expectations. If you are looking for a home, look to Gehan to do your building. Keep realistic expectations and you will find that Gehan will easily surpass your expectations.
Here we are in Nov and having been in our new home since Sep 13, I must say I am absolutely pleased with things. Gehan took care of all our noted items within just days and has even contacted us to see if we found anything else. We haven't. I would and continue to highly recommend Gehan homes to anyone looking to get the best quality/quantity for their dollar.
