I connected with The Garden Center through their website in order to utilize their landscaping services. The response was very quick and a representative contacted me the following week. He was very pleasant and professional on the phone even offering some advice before he scheduled to come review what my ideas were at my home. He offered to come by and visit the following day. I took a half day off of work as he was to arrive in mid afternoon....that never happened. It was a 'no call, no show'. I figured maybe I got the day wrong and and thought that maybe the appointment was for the following day...nope...didn't show again. I only expect a phone call just to say 'I'm sorry' or a reschedule but neither of those happened.
This is very disappointing to me as I am at The Garden Center weekly, and no, I am not kidding. This experience or the lack thereof, has no doubt left me wondering about going back.

Trees were planted. Hole was dug just big enough for the rootball, which I was told it was supposed to be dug larger than the root ball, but was informed that that is the way they do it. Trees are doing good now, 4/7/15.

The wall is beautiful and very well built. They did the work very quickly. The only problem we encountered was this was the first time this person had bid a project and they forgot to add on the drip irrigation to the estimate. It was added on after we had awarded the bid to them.

When Scott initially came for the first meeting he discussed what he was going to do to our yard. It was totally different from every other contractor that had come out and what he proposed to do was exactly what my wife and I were looking for, something totally different. On the day of the appointment Scott brought both crews and started to work his magic. He went over what he was going to do and we all decided to make a few modifications to the original plans and he and his crew went to work. They totally transformed the yard into a thing of beauty. Luis was a master at putting in the new walkway so my wife would not have to get out of the car into the mud. Plus they totally fixed my side of the driveway so I can now get out of my truck and not stand in a mud pit. His entire crew was very friendly and helpful and worked very hard and diligently in transforming our yard. Over the last 5 days many of my neighbors have come by and complimented my wife and I on how beauty the yard now looks compared to the old yard. The front yard has never look so good. We are very proud of our new front yard.

They had a very reasonable fee for planting a bush and they will come out and do all the prior checking for lines and they will tape the thing and come out and plant a bush for $15. I thought that was very reasonable. We got 8 bushes done. We also bought some other nursery stocks from them and they are one of the few nurseries' that don't keep their stock for a year. We were very pleased with them. The trees have only been in for a short time, but if within the year they don't survive they will come and replace them.

This was a great experience, and we are delighted with the outcome. Scott Lunt met with us to discuss our initial ideas, and he made good suggestions. He was easy to work with and understood our objectives (xeriscaping) right away. Within a few days he came back with an estimated cost, which was pretty close to the final charge. He scheduled his crew [John, Omar and Joel] to work for a whole week, when my husband and I could be home for most of the time for on-site consultation (which turned out to be a good idea). The crew worked carefully, safely, efficiently, and thoughtfully---and cleaned up the site at the end of every day [great!]. I had done a scale drawing of the site plans that noted where rock, mulch, etc. were to be placed and that was a good "reminder" for all who worked on it. John assisted me in selecting plants from The Garden Center nursery, and helped with the placement; I wished there had been larger plants available, but the variety of plants from which to choose was good. The plants are guaranteed for a year, with appropriate care for them. This was not an inexpensive project, but the quality of the materials and service was worth it.

while I found their plants to be in very good condition, I felt some were quite over priced compared to Lowes, Home Depot and Rainbow Gardens. Yes, understand they're a nursery and not a big log store and that drew me to this place. However, upon going there I was shocked how many plants were not grown/raised by them, but one of the big national nurseries Mondovia.
What struck me was banana plant prices and cannas. I've purchased and planted many, and can't remember seeing $24.95 for a 3 gallon banana plant or canna.
Lastly, we were looking for bright yellow or orange Lanatana and only found muti-colored out for sale. However, did see the colors we were lookign for in their nursery tent, but were quickly scolded that they weren't for sale. Not sure what was so special about these plants, but I'm thinking if customer has a certain color (like yard doecorting), shouldn't a business do what it needs to to help the customer?

"We a retail nursery and not a grower. No retail nursery grows their own plants. We provide plants from only the best local and regional growers and have many price levels and sizes. If price is your main concern and not premium quality and expert advice and service; we're probably not the nursery for you. Good luck at the box stores."

I ordered the trees last week and was given two flags to put in my yard marking the spots where I wanted the trees planted. I put the flags in my yard, but wasn't confident I had chosen the right locations. I called the center this morning and asked if they could tell me approximately when the trees would be delivered. They put me in touch with Steve. I called Steve and he told me he should be at my house around 2:30. I told him I wasn't entirely happy with the locations I had chosen and asked him if he could call me when he was on the way to my house so I could leave work and meet him. He said he'd be happy to.
When I arrived home, Steve and his crew were waiting for me. He explained that due to the size of the trees, the locations I chose probably wouldn't be ideal. I then asked him if he wouldn't mind digging up a smaller tree so that one of the new trees could go in its spot. He not only said that wouldn't be problem, he and his crew had that tree out in under 10 minutes! I couldn't be more pleased with the trees... the customer service at the center, and of course Steve and his patience and guidance.
While planting the trees, Steve explained how to properly care and water the trees for the next two years. I had received the tree care paperwork when I ordered the trees, but I appreciated his attention to detail. He even showed me what the new growth looked like and cautioned me against pruning until the trees became more established.

I will not use this company for anything. I found this store to not only be unprofessional, but just rude. Their customer service was poor and unacceptable. I went there before to get plants and I was very impressed with how nice and helpful they were with me. After that experience, I decided to look into irrigation, but after this experience, I decided I would not be back for a long time.

"We're not sure why she made a request for a bid in August and waited until December to say something. Our goal is to provide the best service and quality products possible. This is the first time I have heard of this happening. However, it usually takes two weeks for a bid during the busy summer season. Sorry we couldn't be of service to this customer. Next time don't wait four months to say something that could have been taken care of in a more timely manner. Please check out our other reviews from other happy customers."

We purchased a tree from the Garden Center after being shown around their large lot. We had plenty of trees to choose from and received good advice in the selection we made. The delivery/planting fee was very reasonable and was scheduled quickly. The crew that planted the tree was very cautious of our property. They gave us lots of advice for the care and maintenance of the new tree.

I called the owner from the store and explained the situation and he said he received complaints from other employees about me complaining about the prices. It had been about a month since the last time I had been in this store. I asked which employees made a complaint about me and what were the complaints. He was very angry that I called and that I asked for employee names and refused to give me that information. He said he didn't have to. It's getting harder now a days to get good customer service or ask a question of a company on a mistake that they made. The manager names is Wayne Harrell.

"THE STEPPPING STONES WERE NEVER MARKED $2.99. THEY WERE MARKED $11.99 LESS 75% OFF. THE CUSTOMER ACCUSED US OF SWITCHING PRICE TAGS AT THE CHECKOUT AND BECAME VERY DISRUPTIVE IN THE STORE. WE SIMPLY GAVE THEM TO HER AT NO CHARGE TO CALM HER DOWN. THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME SHE HAS CREATED PROBLEMS WITH MY STAFF. WE ARE AN INDEPENDENT NURSERY AND BEND OVER BACKWARDS FOR OUR CUSTOMERS; HOWEVER, WE WILL NOT TOLERATE CUSTOMERS ACTING IN THIS MANNER. The best thing about them was that they were cheaper than most other places and the work was done very good. They were good about cleaning up every thing and they were also good about making sure I was happy with the service.

Wayne arrived as scheduled and provided a rough estimate of the job, at which time we agreed we would finalize the plans in Feb 2007. A written estimate was provided on 2-26-07. The job was scheduled to begin 4-2-07, but was delayed due to rain and was started 4-10-07 and completed 4-11-07. The work crew arrived on time, worked very diligently and cleaned up when finished. I am very very pleased with all of the work and my yard looks terrific! I would highly recommend this company to anyone considering landscaping. This company has been featured on KENS5 TV Great Day SA Mi Casa Makeover on several occasions and that is one reason I contacted this company. Wayne Harrell is terrific and he didn't try to sell me anything that wasn't necessary and he provided great advice as well as suggestions to reduce the overall job cost.
