I called the Texcode number and reached Alan on his cell phone. He was courteous and took time to answer my questions regarding his qualifications and experience. He gave me an exact quote for the full inspection (including a termite inspection) and was able to schedule the inspection to occur in two days. He arrived promptly and welcomed my presence during the inspection. He explained the deficiencies he was noting and identified those that were simply code differences from those that were in effect at the time of construction. This is an important, potential "deal killer." I have had home inspections where the code deficiencies (I'm referring to deficiencies that are flagged because they don't meet current code standards--but WERE built to code at the time the house was constructed). Some inspectors don't explain these "deficiencies." This can cause negotiations to fall apart when buyers ask for repairs that are, in fact, unnecessary. The seller often consults their own building professional about requested repairs--and when they are advised that the requested repairs are not needed--things start to unravel. This has happened to me. The inspection was thorough and the full report was presented to me that same day. It was complete with photographs of each deficiency with arrows exactly marking the location. The report was also provided in CD form and Alan provided excellent home maintenance reference material that I will use during the course of my home ownership. An excellent and professional job.
Description of Work: Texcode was the second inspection service I used in my current home search. The service included a standard, full house inspection and included a termite inspection on a 1693 square foot, single story house.

They did a very good inspection on the property. The condition of the house was inspected also. It was an excellent inspection and he was very friendly and kind. We would use this service company again.
Description of Work: The inspection on the home was done prior to purchasing the property. The doors, heating system and electric were inspected.
